I am very honored and excited to have this legendary coral in my system and see how it will color up under a 10k lamp . I have already moved it twice and don't know where it will end up yet but I will try to lay it out flat like Rich did when he started his. Not a good first picture but here it is and I will post more pictures in the near future after I move it a couple more times:lol:

Good luck - I hope it does well for you. (and that xenia doesn't over grow it) ;)

I have wondered how it would color up under lights like yours. Great setup for pulling out thoes colors.

LOL about time Chris. I killed so many of these frags trying to spread them. I wanted to get you a much larger frag but I'm a murderer :D

Now I know who to call when I want a piece. What do you say Chris? 12mo? I'll put it in my calender, lol;)

Thank you ! Clove polyps and easier to control they just pull off with forceps. Had xenia back in 2003 and thought it was the coolest ever:bum:

That's awesome! Where abouts in FL are you? Hope it does just as good as it did in Rich's tank!

Hopefully it won't take too long:worried:

They are good size and grateful to have them:celeb3:

Best of luck, can't wait to see the progress.
I will need some.

So far I think they look great even though one had some stn. on the bottom . Looks like it has stopped and I am not concerned enough to mess with it and stress it out more. Here is a picture you can see it only on the front bottom . The other frag looks perfect

Don't kill it. I want a Piece. Haha Leave it be and stop moving it around. That second one is bound to fall off right into that Monti colony and die.

Love it! Just stuck it right into the monti with some epoxy.

PS... holy PM you got there! Such deep purple on it.

Thank you  For sure one of my favorites and this rainbow is so fuzzy I have to blast it with a baster just so you can see the corallite structure

This is my first update in 4 months with this coral and so far it has been a slow grower for me. One has laid some base and is getting fat and the other is just growing upwards with no base at all. They haven't achieved the rainbow colors that Richards have yet. These 2 corals are very healthy with great polyp extension and beautiful colors and I think they're are getting ready to take off soon. I will try for some better pictures soon.

Very cool, I was thinking about these two pieces just the other day. Glad they are still alive and doing well. Can't wait to see what they look like again in a few months. Thanks for the update!

I think tenius in general are slow to get started because they are pretty thick. The OP I got from you seemed idle for the first 2 months now it's about to jump the plug onto the rock. It was a pretty fresh cut too with minimal base. Once they get that half dolla sized base is when they start to speed up has been my observation with these species.

looking good, what 10k bulb are you running? any supplements? nice to see a tank that doesn't have the washed out blue look

I forgot all about this thread I started:facepalm: I will get some new pictures up soon . By the way your new tank looks awesome.

My OP frag was a fresh cut 1/2 when I got it in April 2014 and I have fragged it maybe 6 times. The coral loves any placement in my tank. I think in a few months I will have some pictures worth showing.

Reeflux with 24 3watt blue and 24 3watt royal blue led. Supplemental light is a must with this lamp ! I have a good selection of 400 watt lamps and try others just for fun. The reeflux will be my light until they stop making them.
