Jacob's 360 Gallon Build

Love the tank. Your massive school of Anthias is what inspired me to get a group going.

Thanks Marius. I'm happy to have inspired more fish purchases by others :D
I love the anthias. I used to have some aggression between the males but they have sorted things out now and don't squabble much at all. I'm actually thinking about trying some tuka's in the near future. They have a terrible track record in captivity but I know of a few people who have done it and I think I can follow their methods closely... hopefully successfully. I'd also like to add a pair of bimaculatus... there are just too many beautiful anthias species!

It is actually a watercolor I saw for sale on Ebay. Its a really nice piece but at almost $2k I think I'll just invest in my own set of water colors and see if I can get one of my artistic friends to do a piece of my new Belus Angel.

Ah, cool. Looks very realistic from here! For $2k you can have a whole tank full of nice living fish to admire! Congrats on the Bellus, another favorite of mine.

Kinda looks pastel. I guess my Photoshop skills need refreshing.

I just realized that I somehow have got back into SPS much more than I intended to. Contributors to this dilemma include BrianBigoats, TFP, CTripi, Acuarista, and Your Reef...

I still need to figure out what all I have, but lots of sps frags all of a sudden!

Jake I think about a year ago you promised to never come back to the dark side!!!! I laughed and said ya we'll see! I have to say it. I told you so. Lol enjoy Jake hope the tank brings you all the happiness u dream of.

SPS=Seemingly Positive Success
I have no idea what I mean by that.
I wish you luck and welcome back to the "dark side" is it bright in here?

Hmmm, I bet we could fit all the SPS from Chris's tank plus the couple of pieces left in my tank in yours Jake....

Yep, I know. I was in denial. I'm still going to focus on softies, but will have a few SPS for those pinks, purples, and hopefully blues!

Abe sounds like a fortune cookie :D
GL with the SPS Jake. After seeing pics from your old SPS tank I'm sure you'll come out bigger and brighter then before
Abe is all old and wise or sumthin ;) :D
My goal is to have less SPS than I did last time around... off to a bad start already LOL.

what the plans for calcium supplementation?
The plan is, that there is no plan :) I'm not going to worry about it until the corals have become established and hit that point where they take off. After that, probably dosing pumps and 2 part... sigh.

Hahaha... yeah I'm sure it would fit, but I already have more than I intended. Tim really gave me the hookup. I was supposed to pick up a stylo from him and ended up with about 10 different exotic montis plus the stylo :) I couldn't say no, but I doubt I will keep them all. Whichever does the best for me I'll hold onto and the rest will be paid forward to other NVReefers. I'm in the experimentation stage right now, after I have had everything in the display for a few months I'll probably have a better idea of what is going to stay and go. BTW Tim's tank is looking AMAZING!... I wish my tank looked that nice after a crash!

I'm actually more excited about this sweet yellow fiji leather I picked up from Live Aquaria recently. It's super bright yellow and healthy looking. I've been looking for one for so long so I'm pretty pumped about it... this is how I know I'm still sane... the sps hasn't taken over my mind... yet!

hey scott, i gave jake some of that purple monti (nodosa?) that i got from you back in 2005 :)

Sorry if I missed this but what do you feed your carberryi and how often? Picked up a few of them this weekend, just curious:)

Nevermind, found it;)

I feed mine the following:
- Hikari Mysis.... 1x daily
- Hikari Spirulina Brine.... 1x daily
- Combo of flakes: F1, F2, Prime Reef, OSI Spirulina.... 2x daily
- NLS Pellet.... 2x daily
- Live black worms.... every other day
- Cyclop-eeze.... every other day

Well, it's been a fun ride but time has changed my views on what's important to me and I think it's time for me to get away from the hobby. I've been in denial about this for awhile but I'm finally ready to leave.

This tank build has been a roller coaster. All of the collective help, support, encouragement, ribbing, and butting heads has by far been more enjoyable than the tank itself. This all came at a time in my life when there were some pretty serious things going on and at times the tank suffered because of that. As much as I hate to break it down now of all times, I feel good about where the tank is at and leaving on a positive note is better than leaving in defeat :)

No regrets. Everything changes with time.

Thanks everyone.
