iv never done diving before but im going to jamica in august an they have a resorte course where you go up to 20 ft. has anyone eles done this and did you enjoy it?

I dove in jamaica several years ago, left from port antonio, where the blue lagoon was filmed. Didnt see too much, however did see a 4 ft barracuda, that made it worth the dive. Not sure about the 20 ft gig though. Id say it would be worth the dive just for the experience

I did something similar, did a resort dive with Sandals in Montego Bay. It was definitely a great experience for my first dive, though it makes the waters around Seattle seem....drab.

Very much worth doing.

Been to Jamaica twice, once Montego Bay & once to Negril.
Imo Negril was much better, there is a place called Rick's (or it was 8years ago) up on the cliffs to the south where you can snorkel right there, there is no beach, but people dive off the cliffs
and there is even a large cave with a bar inside. I remember seeing lot of life there.

Do it Mon!!!

I justs got back from Jamaica yesterday. I took a Discover Scuba Diving course that cost me $125 from Sucba Caribe. I had a pool lesson, an ocean lesson, and a free ocean dive. Both ocean dives were at 45feet and were excellent. The place where I was in Montego Bay had an awesome reef right off the beach of the hotel. I started getting into reefing in 2005 and always wanted to scuba. It was worth it, I ended up back in the pool for more classes, then doing two more reef dives, each one at a different location on the reef, and getting a basic PADI scuba certification. I am definitly going to dive again (next vacation) and get my open water certification. Even if you never get certified, the dives are well worth it for a reef lover. I saw so many corals, fish, and sponges, a large ray, sea cucumbers... you are right there with them in there natural habitat, It was GREAT!
