Jan 22nd Frag Auction

best bet is to bring frags individually in their own small tupperware containers. Most people use the cheap zip-loc plastic containers. If you have items that you have not posted pics on-line of, I always thought people should try to bring pics of item when open as opposed to hoping that reality equals expectations.

Good advice on the containers phlipper, make sure you bring your stuff ready to go home with its new owner.

My oversight. I work Saturday not on Sunday. Therefore, I will be there ready to go. Ed, do you still need setup help?

ED,

I am going with my dad for sure and maybe my mom. What time should i show up and do u want me to come a lil early to help settup?

~Brian

P.S i prob will be the only 15 year old kid watch.

The tables and set up will be done the night before....When we close the store...Thanks for offering to help....You are welcome to come and help :)

I have a ~4x4 sheet of 1/8 inch acrylic, brand new with the paper backing. If anyone is interested in it, let me know and I'll bring it to the auction. There are scratches about an inch in on one end, where my scoring skills were tested, but the rest is perfect.

Unless something else comes up I will make it. Might be around 1:30ish right after church. Too good of an chance to miss it.

Xenia Movie

Xenia Movie

Here is something that I am bringing. It is true pulsing Xenia, Lavender in color, see how how the polyps pulse and twist at the same time. The best thing to do is just look at one polyp and watch it and you will see what I mean. The movie file is 5 meg a total of 30 sec. may need real player to view it. The response here will determine how much we bring as a few of us here in Sierra Vista have it.

I worked on fragging today. Should be able to post pics in the next few days. Have a variety of frags, probably about 15-20 total. Mostly mushrooms, zoas, leather and one alien eyes Favia. Was in a store today and they had a large piece that was not quite as nice that they were looking for 120+. Should be a good auction find for someone.

My frags for Sunday

My frags for Sunday

I realize there are not a lot of SPS keepers in Tucson, however that is all I have to offer. These are a few of the hardier, easy to keep SPS that I have.

Green with Orange polyp Monitpora Digitata

This an Acropora Yongi, yes an Acro but if it has good light high up it will do ok.

Monitpora Cap, it is brown but has a really stunning purple rim

This is one of the largest coral in my tank; it is a Hydnophora. Kind hardy but give it room as it has a powerful sting.

Ed, I would be interested in the xenia.

I will also bring two 1.5" frags of yellow devils paw lether coral. It is pictured in the upper right of the pic with the white sinularia.

If not already posted here please post your items you will be bringing to the auction. I need to add all items to a database to keep track of $$ during the auction. This will save a lot of time and effort on Sunday.

Ed

this is the first pic that I have gotten to take. I have gotten a frag from this colony (done by Hector, much thanks due!). The frag is roughly 1.5 inches by roughly 3/8 in. wide. This is a pretty rare item. I know I saw a large frag in Hector's, 4X4 and it was pretty expensive. Will hopefully get to post more pics tomorrow once my camera recharges from vacation.

That looks really cool, what exactly is it? What will be the minimum starting bid? Remember it will be sold at that price if only one person bids on it. Don't worry though, I am going to big on it!!!

Ed

It is some sort of Favia. When I bought it from Hector he just called it an "alien eye." I am sure this is not the scientific name for it! Hadn't really thought about starting bids, but I will let everyone know.

I finished the kitchen!

I finished the kitchen!

I'll be there, bringing 2 frags, the starting bid is $5.00. The first is a ORA Marshell Island Acro, look in my gallery to see the parent colony, it is upper center of clam pic. It is fully encrusted on rock chip. The 2nd is a Lokani Acro, again the parent is in my gallery, also fully encrusted on rock chip. the frag is brownish, but is starting to turn white like parent. See you there
