January 30th Meeting

I won't be able to make it as I am in Europe until Monday.
It would be nice if someone could post the recipe here.

I'll be there though. Gotta figure out what kind of fish to bring.

And I'm getting rid of my green, w/pinkish/purplish edges Monti Cap. It's trying to take over my little tank. I'm not sure if I can get it out with out breaking it though. And may be able to dislodge some Xenia.

Anyone want some Monti Cap? Maybe some very-much-pulsing Xenia? Would be available under our ARK Coral Share program, and I'll bring it if someone is interested.

Hey Steve, I'll take a piece of Monti.

Jeff, - I'll also bring a jar of minced garlic that we can extract the juice from.
 
NOTE: We should be having a raffle if anyone has frags they would like to donate to the cause. I will try to frag a few small things but can't promise much.

Didier - we will pretty much be making a mix of the list above. When I make it I usually use a 1/4lb of each and it will make alot (enough to feed all my tanks for a couple months.


I will bring a small processor that is only used for making fish food and never seen dish soap(yes I'm picky)

talapia is a good fish to add to the mix. I might have some in the freezer.

Hey Jeff, for the raffle.

I'll bring:

1/2" Frag of ORA German Blue polyp Digitata.
1/4" frag of ORA Purple Plasma
3+ Polyps Green Bay Packers
5+ polyp frag of Weedy Green Zoas
4+ Polyp frag of RPEs.

Should be fun!
 
I've put my 4 polyp (now 5) Mohawks (Variable Star) in the coral share program for a while now, is anyone interested so I can bring them today?

I'm ticked I couldnt make it. I will most likely get to the next one in Stamford.
 
I, personally, had a fantastic time. The raffle was a big hit. Seemingly everyone walked away with something (if you didn't, and was there, pm me and I'll frag you something). We all got a bag of fish food. In fact, my fish right now are playing pass the huge chunk of squid. If everyone could list what they won / got. I think it would be cool.

I left with:
Susan's Purple Star Polyps.
Neil's Massive Blue "Ark"ropora
A chunk of Scolley's "I want more light" Monti Cap.
A very nice frag of Georgi's Mohawks (Coral Share Program - TY!)

A huge thank you goes out to Jeff, Steve, Georgi, Neil, Brian, Brett and the rest of the gang who peeled, chopped, sliced and diced the ingredients.

Also the raffle gave the club it's first revenue. I think we made over 100 bucks! I can't believe we sold 100+ raffle tickets. I think a few more of those and we'll have enough for our own club par meter.

Meeting was quite nice. We probably made 10lbs of fish food :)
Yeah you have no excuse for the next one. Should be 5mins from your place ;)

I'm glad you liked the zoas. I personally didn't bring anything home because my tank is full of frags and I want them to grow now. BTW that Acro was HUGE! it was probably 2 inches diameter. I've never seen one like that before.

It'll be nice to get a par meter, that way I can see how good LEDs really are :)

Ehh its about 10, so I'll try my best ;)

I took 3 showers and washed my hands 10 times still smell of fish ...LOL that was a good time hope all had fun.. raised some good money for our club.. see you all next time Feb.20 later Brian
 
I ended up with Joe's Greenbay Packers and Neil's acropora.

I think we need name tags in the future with name/screen name on them. There were alot of people there and not all from ARK.
