Velko has also been kind enough to donate some equipment for the club to raffle off at the end of the meeting. The club would also like to thank Aquatic Treasures for the books and magazines that were donated to the club last month. These books are available for rental at any of the monthly SEASL meetings.

It's a good start.

Come to the meeting and learn how to make the algae move from your tank to a controlled location. The cool thing about algae scrubbers is that; once established;they will out compete the tank algae for nutrients, causing the nuisance algae in your tank to fade away.

im not a member of seasl but im interested in joining the club, am i allowed to attend the meeting to feel things out a bit? or must i be a legit member first?

Come on down. :bounce3:

No membership needed.

Any one is welcome to come to the meetings and join in.

Hope to see you there.

I'm not sure of the exact species that grow on the screen but there are several. They range from a brownish red carpet type to a neon green string type of algae.

Here is a picture of a screen that is about to scrapped off.

I just checked my scrubber... after about 6 months of not checking on it. Looks like the pods and snails cleaned it off. I have some turf in the sump I can bring to seed others.

Any word on the item list for the auction?

Faz

I talked with Velko last week about the items that will be in the auction. He said he had a lot of equipment but hadn't yet had a chance to separate it out. He is out of town from now until the night before the meeting. So, I won't be able to get any more specifics. In general, he said it is all items from his systems at his previous Fairview Heights store that he didn't need at the new store such as skimmers, pumps, light pendants, MH fixtures, and maybe some tanks. Velko has made numerous equipment donations to the club for various auctions over the year. It is always good stuff so be sure to bring your cash!

I just saw some really nice pics of the store on under the Club News and Announcement thread on the SEASL.org forum. Good job Rich!

Velko,
Thanks much for your great hospitality, auction items, and even the donuts! The store looked great and everyone seemed to have a very good time.

It was pretty cool to see the new designs in ATS, thanks Nick. No wonder they are enjoying a resurgence in their popularity. They are efficient and cheep"”a great combination.

Thanks again,

JRC
