Japanese swallowtail (Genicanthus melanospilos)

kyocera

I've been looking at a female swallowtail at a LFS. Its eating and I have it on hold for a couple of days. I've read about them on suppliers pages. Looking for some first hand accounts from those of you that may have kept this angelfish in the past or present. Do the settle in and do well in aquariums? Are they a long lived fish?

I have had my swallowtail for 6 or 7 mo. I was told that angels dont like to move from tank to tank but i got mine the day it came into lfs then to qt then to dt. I had no problems at all. Has never messed with corals, fish, or shrimp, great fish.

Thanks the fish will stay a few more days at the LFS until I am able to handle it properly. Then if it is still eating well I will pick it up.
