does anyone have any information about yellowhead jawfish breeding. i have a pair that are mating. the male will have the eggs in his mouth for about a week and then they are gone. not sure if he is eating them or what. i haven't been able to find a lot of info on jawfish. they are in to large of a tank to try and capture, i was just wandering if they would survive on their own? thanks for the help

They are hatching. The odds of fry surviving in a regular tank are slim to none. On the bright side, at the very least they do provide good food for other tank inhabitants.

the male is not eating the eggs after a week, he releases planktonic larvae.
These are a tough nut to crack, however if you do a search in this forum for "yellow headed jawfish, you'll find a recent thread from Martin Moe on success w/ this species.
Bottomline, get a plankton sieve, and go field collecting

Great link! Thanks for posting it. I can never get the search function to work for me so I just wait until someone posts interesting older links for me haha

Good Luck Integrus with the jawfish!

The price of a cup of coffee a month will make it work every time :)
