Jawsee's Reef

Hi Kinlayan.

All the corals are attached too the live rock so the urgins can knock them over,in total there are 3 different urgins species, aprox 10 pieces.

I don't like it when live rock is complete overgrown whit purple algea and than closed off for bacterial live. Therefore the urgins in the tank.

The Dastaco is custom made. They always can make it bigger.

When i started this tank(juli 2009)the ceramic was complete overgrown whit al types off algae, also the red flussy one so i put around 20 urchins into the tank and they did a great job.

They eat almost every algae if there is nothing else and if you place enough off them.

As is said in my TOTM thread i lost almost all my fishes in juli 2009.

This was my own fault,my fish where stressed in the cellar tanks and when i put them upstairs i made the biggest mistake too buy two chaetedons, the rest is history, all the fish where complete covered whi itch.

Only the wrasses stayed alive so my anampses femininus and the ocellatus and some other wrasses are the oldest fisher, around 4 a 5 years now.

My yellow tang was then 6 years and seing him dying whit all the other fish really hurts.

Love your videos! please keep posting! I see you have a urchin doesnt it knock over corals?

Do you ever get any nuisance algae ,brysopsis?

Also is your dastaco calcium reactor - custom made for your volume or is it commercially available model?

The mandarins are great love the interactions , which is your longest living fish?

Sooo many questions hope you dont mind,

Inthe past week i had some Frech speaking visitors here at home, one off them has make some nice pic's.

haha,be carefull,a wet floor can be dangerous:lolspin:

Yesterday we went for a long drive (800km)to the Deltec factory in Germany (whit thanks too David Saxby)too see everything they make there.

Very interesting talk whit the owner and nice things too see.

When we went home we set up our new skimmer into the car,we had an BB King,an ATB and now i am going too try an Deltec,it is an SC 4580 whit an automatic cleaning cup.

Today i have installed it and now i am waiting when it 'start's skimming:crazy1:
