Hey guys I was going to glue some frags to my rocks yesterday and found out I was out of Aquamend. I went to HD in RP and found that they replaced it with JB Waterweld. I read somewhere that it was Reef Safe so far, but not sure if any of you guys have tested it yet.

Let me know ...Thanks.

I use it all the time!! I actually like it better just because it doesn't make my skimmer go nuts!!!

Thanks for the input cuz.

Thanks for posing that question Craig. I was at HD yesterday looking for AquaMend and saw only the JB Waterweld.

Yeah Thanks Cuz I also found some stuff saying it was O.K. by googling it the other day.

So Ken Did you buy it and did you use it. I don't want to be the guinnea pig my tank is finniky enough.:)

So Craig what you are saying is you want one of us to poison our tanks lmao. just kidding Craig. Grant

No Craig, I left it on the shelf so I could research it first. And then this thread materialized. Yay.

I have some AquaMend left but it will probably get used up with my immediate needs. When it's gone I'll try the Waterweld.

Hey guys hope this link works as it is from ....water fish.com It is aboout building a Mantis tank but in it he gives good info on epoxies that you find out there and MSDS links. Interesting it says that Aquamend and JB Waterweld are the same but Aquamend is recomended to dry first before putting into tank 24 hours. JB Waterweld says safe without the wait. I always put Aquamend in immediately so maybe this other stuff is safer ? I will probably be using some this week so I will let you know what I find.

Go ahead my test rats…..if your tank crashes just think it will be a educational donation to the club the "one for all" technique. Just kidding. I think its fine. I’m sure the tanks can handle a lot more than we throw at them.
