i was wondering if everybody's 12g JBJ nano cube stock model is like this
the fans are exposed without a cover, their just hovering over the water
is this correct? doenst it seem dangerous?

tank temp is 80. i notice theres more evaperation on this tank than any of my others. i checked for leaks but the rug is dry and no salt creep marks anywhere on the tank or stand. im guessing this is due to the uncovered fans?

Mine has a large clear plastic covering both the lightbulbs and the fans. The fans exhaust the heat of the bulbs. I think.

I have an OG 12g JBJ that I modded by adding two fans. Those fans are there not covered below them and exposed directly to the water to cool the water down. I've had it running for over 2 years now and it's working fine.

Originally, the JBJ Nanocubes didn't have fans, then they started selling them with fans, so it depends if you bought one of the originial ones.

i bought the 2006 model with cooling fans, the dx is an update on lighting+fans
so i have the origional one 50/50 bulb lighting with new cooling fans. the dx model has a splash guard mine however does not have a splash guard over the fans just over the light.
the fans are making a bit of a noise now, i hope they are ok
well it did only cost 89.99 lol
