JBJ 24 Gallon LED?

I posted this over in the lighting section as well, but figured I would post it here too.

After thorough research and a lot of reading I have decided to make the jump over to LED. I will be trying LED's out on a 24 Gallon JBJ that is an extra tank not being used at the moment. I've ordered two Ecoxotic Panorama 12 Watt 8K/453 nm Blue combos. I'm thinking of adding an all blue 453 nm 12 watt as well but wanted to make sure that would not be overkill. I've read a lot of stories where LED's are actually too powerful and will "melt" corals. I plan on keeping softies, hammer, frogspawns, and possibly an RBTA down the road.

Option 1- Keep 2 8K/453 nm Blue Combos and have done with it.

or

Option 2- Keep the above and add a 12 watt strip of 453 nm Blue making a total of 3 strips over the tank.

I have the same tank and am also using Ecoxotic LED's. I bought the RGB system though for my tank. I love being able to change from white to blue to purple/blue and back to white if I want.

I will be adding a second Panorama PRO LED module here in the next couple months along with 2 stunner strips. If I were you I would definitely look into using some of the magenta LED's that Ecoxtoic has available. My biggest complaint with LED is the blue:white that everyone is using. Too much of the spectrum is missing and I think colors fade due to it.

I think my Panorma Pro will be the 8k white version so I hit more of the yellows with all daytime modules on. I will then use the all blue and blue/magenta stunner strips for dusk/dawn.

I really want to see them all in person so I am hoping that Ecoxotic comes to the Mountain West Reef Fest this year so I can play with all the goodies!

Hope that helps a little as we are in the same boat.

Thank you for the info. The thing is I already purchased the Ecoxotic Combo light strips. Was just wondering if I needed to add the 453 nm Blue Strip to keep the corals I would like. I like the blue look, but not overly blue.... going for a nice looking contrast of white/blue. I would definitely like to checkout Ecoxotics booth as well. Its hard picturing what the combos will look like. I'm sure they will be bright thats for sure.
