JBJ 28 Gallon Nano Owners Club

It works well for me and was in my price range. I'm sure there's always something better. The only negative thing I have to say about it is it's a little on the loud side, but the tank is in the family room and I can tune it out/have become accustomed to it pretty easily.

Hopefully some others will chime in with some different options for you.

Does anyone know if there is an upgrade avialable for the hood that raises it a few inches? I like the look of the water but want to keep the stock hood.

DemiseAngel: I have always wanted something like that. It doesnt take much for JBJ to mould that. Unfortunately there is nothing like it. It would help in many ways: reduce heat, allow different kinds of retro fitting of extra lights etc etc.

I dont like using the legs because of the light spill and it just doesnt look like a proper AIO sort of tank anymore sort of thing.

Hope everyone is having a safe and happy holiday!

What's the best way to clean the glass in the JBJ Nano 28? I'm talking about the glass covering the HQI light. Mine is almost completely covered in salt residue and scraping doesnt seem to work.

Cheers

I figured the jbj club would be a good place to ask this, does the new jbj led nano have a spot for a skimmer in the back?

If I were adding actinics, I would go all out for the actinics. You have plenty of light already, the tank needs actinic IMO.

Jsingh,

I am running the JBJ Nano LED. I removed the media basket and inserted a Tunze 3110/2 skimmer, the predecessor to the 9002 Nano. I wanted that one as it fits into the basket without having to remove the integrated magnet holder. I glued some "fins" on the side which keeps it at the proper water level.

The stock collection cup does not fit. I purchased the skinny version from Intank. It started skimming immediately. Downside: have to remove the cup to open the hood. No biggie IMHO.

As far as I can tell the LED and the HQI nanocubes are the same when it comes to how the rear chambers are laid out. I have gone skimmerless on my LED. Its been up for about 2 weeks now and things are going great. I am already seeing growth on the few corals I have. I started skimmerless back at the beginning of november on my old tank which I transferred into the LED. My parameters are solid with just doing water changes and cheato. You would loose the media basket with most skimmers, except for the HOB types.

I have a build thread on my tank check it out. I am staining the stand and hope to have the tank on the stand after this weekend.

Anybody here with the 28g JBJ have a neon goby in their tank? I really want one but I'm afraid of it swimming through the slits of the middle outtake chamber.

Anybody changed out their stock ballast? I think mine is dead, and I am not sure how this 5 prong power cord works. I know it feeds the LEDs and fans, but are they getting the same voltage?
