Jebao WP25 Information

In manufacturing when a product doesn't meet the required spec, it has to go somewhere. Sometimes the components are sold, sometimes they are dissembled and recycled as much as possible for the materials and sometimes they are sold off in bulk and re-sold by another company where the specs are not as exacting.

Seeing an Ecotech label isn't surprising, it could have said HP, Toshiba or any other product using a switching power supply. Normally that label would have removed and replaced with another. That one appears to have slipped through the cracks.

cool, didn't really care since my wp25 seems to run fine on the ecotech adapter. just hope it isn't too defective/used and craps out on me.

My WP25 seems to be failing, water flow is way down. I tore it down for inspection and nothing looked out of the norm; there was some algae on the magnet side of the impeller but no scoring on the shaft or anything visible that would reduce performance so drastically (roughly 25% of what it was doing yesterday). I've only had it running for 2 months now.

Not sure what direction to go at this point, I'm hesitant to try another but was very happy with it prior to the failure.

Is it still slow after cleaning it? I get reduced flow too when there's stuff between the magnet and the casing but it returns to full flow after cleaning.

I scrub the slitted parts and the hole for the impeller with a toothbrush and clean the impeller with the magnet by hand (under running water). Takes about 5 minutes or less.

What is the acid/water ratio? I always wanted to try hydrochloric acid but didn't want to risk mixing a strong solution.

I never actually measured how much acid I used. Stored bought muriatic acid is about 31%. I just pour 3-4 oz of acid into a gal of water. Be careful and don't inhale the fume generated initially. After cleaning rinse with plenty of fresh water.

Just out of curiosity , and after seeing this power supply, how much of ecotech marine's stuff is made in china? Say for example, in an mp 10-60 , is the wet/dry side also made in china? Is the control module made in china? I guess the reason I'm asking is because of all the people who claim ecotech to be so high and mighty USA company yet outsource their products manufactured in china. (I'm not bashing ecotech and their hard work and research) Just trying to confirm what I already believe.

Hey Guys,...has anyone got the new double pump controller FishStreet is offering if you buy two pumps at the same time? And do they charge you the high shipping rate from HK even if the pumps are coming from the Jersey warehouse?
I want to place an order with them. I'm looking into a couple WP60's...is fishstreet the best deal right now?Thanks---Rick

Shipping from nj doesn't cost the same a HK.

Ya I didn't think so, but on their check out site they want 66 bucks for shipping. If I hit paypal my card will get that charge. How do you get the nj shipping charge? Thanks---Rick

Ya you have to add the items to your cart and then click "estimate shipping" Not checkout and then select USA for local and NJ shipping pops up for $3 bucks. select it and check out :) Profit!
