My Anemones, Toadstool Leather, Frogspawn, and Kenya tree all hated the 25 at full power on the stock controller.
I wound up taking the 25's out of the tank and putting the 40 in controlled with the Reef Angel.


I tried the 25 at the same settings as I had the 40 at and it didn't behave right. When I set the 25 to run at 30% during the night it would run for a bit and then stop. This never happened with the 40.

The 25's run perfectly fine with the stock controller, never stopped or anything, but they were to strong for my 55.


I can get better control and positioning with the 40 then the 25's


I'm going to wind up selling the 25's.

i wonder if 30% is just to low for the motors on the 25's. I don't have a controller so can't test it.

have you tried just bumping it up to 40% and see if it has the same problems?

I just got my 25s today, I will test their threshold tonight.

In my experience, the WP40 fails to start under 20% and can be dialed back to 18% if started above the 20% threshold. At that point, it has the inertia to keep going but not enough start up power in this range.

Maybe it's the smaller outlet of the 25 creating a narrower and more forceful flow vs the wider outlet of the 40.

Pretty sure I saw a small orange fish slammed into the gorgonian at around 0:08. :-D

Umm, I'm not really sure which one I like. I have both of them hooked up to the RA now and am running on reefcrest mode from 30-60% in anti-sync. I have them set to go into night mode at 11pm, which is constant 40% from both. We'll see how it works out.

I tried to find a minimum threshold for the pump, but couldn't pin it down. At around 17% one of them stopped but the other continued to run at 15%. I didn't want to push it too low.

If you didn't watch my playlist, it has way more videos than I posted. I didn't want to clutter the thread too bad as I have 14 videos. Multiview on some of the modes and FTS for all of them.
