Jebao WP25 Information

Does that mean you wont need to buy the voltage power supply driver?

That's right.

I just went to FS site and saw this statement

25/5 News: We shipping Jebao WP-40 can send to Worldwide, Include USA.* Jebao WP-40 which design*is different Other Brand patent.

Looks like Jebao is pretty confident about not infringing Tunze's patent and can continue to sell WP40 to US.

I'm going to repeat what I've said before. I really want Jebao to have the speed control built into the controller, that would be cool. But I won't believe it until I see it!

Simon, it's not that I don't trust your friend in HK, but how is it that he is so well hooked up that he knows what Jebao is going to be coming out with in the future? It's just a rumor until I see it in print from Jebao or a Jebao distributor like FS.

I woder if they will sell just the controller for us that would like it.

I like mine set at W1 or else but am running in else mode now because some of my corals don't care for all the new flow.

here is a crapy video of my anemones on the otherside of my 75 gal. tank. with just 1 wp25. almost scared to put the 2nd one in right now.

Well Like I posted a while back. A Jebao rep (Wynstan), I just wish he had told me that it would not be on the first gen units.

It's nice to know I wasn't wrong, but again it would have been nice to know it wasn't going to first come out that way.

I know a lot of people got it because of the variable speed control. (I did).

At this point I wouldn't believe it until I see it on the controller.

I'm sure they will sell just the controller. Just another way for them to make more money.

I also got 2 of the 25's because I thought they would have the speed controller, and if I didn't need them on the 25 I would try them on the 40's if they would work.

The key word is "thought." Like Ron said, its all rumors until you see it in print. I was very tempted to get a W25 in the GB but I figured I could wait a month or two to see the reviews. Glad I did, from the videos it looks like a beast. I will only need 1 for my 75 and no way can I get one in my 20L frag tank. Patience is almost always the right move in this hobby.

yeah I know they were rumors and I still new it was a chace i was taking, but either way I am still very happy wiith the pump so far. to me the speed control would have been just a bonus.

I wasn't actually getting them for the speed control, because I was going to connect them to my Reef Angel and have the ability to ramp the speed up or down.

You make me laugh. Eco Tech recouped it's R&D costs for the Votech with the sale of the first 10 MP40's! It's a pump with a simple controller. It's not like 10 high paid scientists sat around for 2 years designing and engineering these things.

I'll give you the fact that the Vortech is a bit different, but then why is the Tunze still priced at $335, it doesn't have any real R&D involved? It's really a simple pump with a simple controller.

R&D costs... :fun4:

Ron I am honestly curious.

Do you actually have any experience running a company that designs, has manufactured, and sells products? A compamy that pays employees and their benefits, state, local and federal taxes, UL and other certification fees, business permits, advertising and insurance, lawyers to handle claims, deals and other matters, utility bills, tolls tarrifs and other fees associated with legal and proper import and... R&D?

I am not sticking up for one company or othe the other as I could care less, but am stunned at the level of ignorance on display in these threads with regard to basic economics, business practice, and the simple realites of the marketplace (ON BOTH SIDES OF THE DEBATE).

Wrong thread. Please discuss this at the other thread. This thread is for WP25 information.

Simon,

I quoted from THIS thread... No worries though, I have no intention of furthering the point. I said what I had to say :)

I only wish I had room for a tank big enough to use this type of pump.... As it stands, I can't stand the sight of them (no matter who makes them) in small tanks. They stick out like sore thumbs :)

Pointing this question to Rrasco and Sacohen because I know you both have reef angels.
Do the original cables that were designed to connect the wp40 to the reef angel also work for the wp25? I am assuming yes, since you both are running your wp25s on the reef angel controllers, but just want to confirm.

Bean, I sent you a PM. And the simple answer is, I didn't run a company, but I spent years in management with a company that did lots of R&D.

Steve said earlier:
My Anemones, Toadstool Leather, Frogspawn, and Kenya tree all hated the 25 at full power on the stock controller.
I wound up taking the 25's out of the tank and putting the 40 in controlled with the Reef Angel.

I tried the 25 at the same settings as I had the 40 at and it didn't behave right. When I set the 25 to run at 30% during the night it would run for a bit and then stop. This never happened with the 40.

The 25's run perfectly fine with the stock controller, never stopped or anything, but they were to strong for my 55.

I believe the part in red is implying that it didn't work properly. But weather that was due to cables, coding or running the pump too slow is unclear.

Yes the Reef Angel cable for the WP40 will work in the WP25 as well.
All of the parts will interchange with either pump.
The power supply.
The Controller,
The cable from the controller to the pump.

I think it was the coding. I was using a custom wave code that Robert created for someone else one the WP40.

I didn't really test the pre-coded waves that are in the Reef Angel, because I just liked the WP40 better, but I think that it would have worked fine with them.

I had only taken the pump down to 30%, where SimonSKL I think has taken it down to 18%
