Jebao WP25 Information

I almost purchased an mp40 and then I stumbled on the Wp40 thread. I decided to purchase the wp40 instead. My decision was based mainly on price, noise, and water movement. I also plan on buying 2-3 wp25s.
I'm sure I am only one of the many customers ecotech is going to lose because of Jebao's new pumps.

Sacohen - Since you are already in contact with them can you verify what size tank that is in the video. I already have two of the 40's but may put these in my frag tank.

I'll try to ask them.

I am hoping that since the details we got about the size were so far off the mark that maybe the pump is more powerful than the 3000l/h that was stated.

I asked them that and am still waiting on an answer. They have been pretty good about getting back to me on questions.
Have not heard back from my last e-mail, but maybe because it is the weekend and they are 12 hrs ahead of us.

What do you think Eco Tech will be selling MP40's for at MACNA in the Fall?
lol

I own some Koralia's [pretty good stuff]

Did a trade of my 2 MP40s for 2 tunze 6105s [great stuff]
And CS for both are outstanding.

But these new things will kick the snot outa all three by MACNA. They have to be sweating it some.

PS. I'm down for 2 WP-25s when they get here.

Lots of people stated that when the Hydor's came out that it was going to shake up Tunze, and in a since it did they came up with a better product maybe a little cheaper but not as robust as they're original products like the old brown or black 6100 stream pumps that where outrageous in there pricing.
Competition is a good thing so I guess we sill see how this pan's out.

Ecotech isn't worried about these pumps. Anyone seriously considering a few vortechs, isn't looking at these. They are completely different pumps.

I'd bet koralia is more worried than Tunze and Ecotech.

Even 1 hobbyist buying one of these takes money outta ecotechs pockets. That's not good for BUSINESS. The truth of the matter is these pumps look more then decent. Stray voltage and "made in China" arguments are not going to suede too many people trying to save money. ALL EQUIPMENT IS SUBJECT TO MALFUNCTION. Tunze, ecotech, Red Dragon pumps, Benz, BMW, Apple, Samsung etc... Nothing wrong with a little fire under ecotechs rear. Jmo

I agree and I suppose time will tell. To bad we can't get sales figures for number of units sold so we could really tell. I just know there are a lot of Jebao WP40's flying into the US over the last couple of months. And for a brand new product with no paid for advertising, they sure have made a big splash here. Heck, there have been at least a couple people post on here who bought WP40's and then sold MP40's.

Only time will tell but I disagree with you a little on this one.

I'm an MP user (20 and 10). Both have had wet sides replaced over the years. The motor blocks are now showing wear and dropping out of low settings (error message at low flow rates). I can afford new MPs but based on the MASSIVE response to the WP threads, i believe a good majority of hobbyists that are looking to replace their existing old units will be more than willing to drop coin on these and use the remaining two to three hundred bucks on other needed items for their systems.

That would be a wrong assumption. I was a week away from ordering a Vortech (even with all their issues) and I found this threat and bought a WP40. Unless this pump ends up being a dud I WON't be purchasing a Vortech. I couldn't be happier and neither could my back account.

I just don't see this as an Ecotech competitor in a sense. Tunze, koralia, sure.

Those that TRULY want the motor outside the tank and understand the vortech benefits, aren't looking at these. They are totally different.

I'm not an Ecotech fan boy either. I don't own anything from them any longer. I run all Tunze stuff now.

A quick example from my own life. I manage a local restaurant. We sell gourmet burgers, chicken sandwiches, Turkey sandwiches, halibut and a majority of other items including the best shakes in the state. We've won best of awards for over 10 years. We've been voted best burgers in the state since 03. We are, by volume, the busiest restaurant in all of Utah. Does that make McDonald's a competitor for us? Just because they sell food? No.

But if somebody opened up a shop just down the street and sold food darn near as good as yours, not as good, just fairly close. And then sold it for 1/3 to 1/4 of what you charge. Would that be a competitor. You bet your sweet a** it would! And that is the better comparison. Jebao WP40's are not MacDonalds or even close. Just because they are super inexpensive doesn't make them junk food!

Well said! Gotta love all the people who THINK they know about these pumps but don't own them.

Can't be done or it would have been by now.

These jebo are McDonald's of the food world. Cheap. Therefore they will sell and stay around.

I'm truly amazed how little you know and understand business.

So you own a WP-40 and are speaking from first hand experience?

What does that matter? I said they were cheap. Would you not agree? Don't they cost 1/3 of a vortech?

Some people love McDonald's food and think it is awesome. That is their opinion, is it not?

I didn't think you did. I can tell from your comments. They are inexpensive that doesn't make them "Cheap". The only benefit the echotechs have over the Jebao are the motor on the outside and that doesn't justify the HUGE cost difference.

I don't think you'll see price drops from other companies. Most likely, once these catch on, the price on them will skyrocket.

The controller is as good? Customer service as well?
