Jebao WP25 Information

This whole thing can backfire on Tunze as some US distributors may just forgo being a Tunze distributor and instead selling Jebao! At least they won't be price controlled by Tunze.
They are basically counting on no one calling their bluff. Even Jebao isn't really effected enough to call Tunze on it. To Tunze this is probably simply the course of action they feel they need to make. Tunze possibly feels that they must act in order to show that they won't quietly sit back and allow this type of thing to happen. As long as no one stands up and proves that there is nothing they can do to stop it, they are fine.

Distributors aren't necessarily going to fight Tunze on it, and even if they do Tunze is free to calculate whether it is worth it to act or back off (the distributors will probably make this calculation for them, meaning that the ones that Tunze can easily afford to drop are the ones that'd call the bluff). Jebao isn't going to care since they are already pretty much immune to direct action anyways. All they have to do is pick middle-men that are also immune (Fish Street for instance).

they may assume that, but it is not true.
I bought a wp40 and would not have spent the money for a tunze, because i just don't have it and i'm sure some of these people buying 2-4 pumps for their tanks would not have spent whatever 2-4 tunze's would set them back, they would do with 1, maybe 2.

+1

New controller with speed built in:

i want one, is fish-street the only place to buy one right now?
is there another group buy going on?
i've been planning on getting an mp10 for my 29g biocube. the only things holding me back were price and noise issues.
it seems the wp25 doesn't have either of those problems.

Now that is what I am talking about. I was holding out and it looks like it is going to pay off. I sure there will be some demos :P

Looks like 3high speeds and 3 low speeds. Hopefully you can adjust the speeds diffrently from the other modes.

I was actually thinking they would hace just added a speed adjustment knob. But we will see how thet work when people start receiving them

Hey Josh thanks for the Legal lesson. I think its really interesting.

Looking forward to the new controllers, lets see if they are functional in a manner useful to the hobbiest lol.

Last snipet, has anyone tried one of these pumps hooked up to a tunze controller. I seem to remember on the wp-40 thread that they were incompatible, but the wp25 is pretty much a 6055 right? maybe the insides are more similar.

I like the new controller. Built in speed control (3 speeds in each mode is fine with me). And the light sensor is built in (as it was on the first WP25 controllers). All good stuff. Now lets get some out in the market place and some reviews written. I'm about ready to buy along with half a dozen others in my local club.

I just received confirmation that my Fish Street order is on its way. Curious if I will already get the new or old controller, since I preordered on the 22nd I think.

Been watching these threads and having a good time doing so. I am looking forward to the release of the new controller and reviews. That will decide if I am on board to order a couple for my upcoming tank build.

Interesting. I what under the impression that is was going to be a knob to control the speed.
Maybe they couldn't get that working correctly so they went for three distinct speeds, that would explain the delay in the release of it too.

i agree, but if there is 6 diffrent speed setting from looking at the new controller, that should be a good variety of diffrent speeds to use.

Sorry it does look like there are 6 different speeds.
H1, H2, H3 ans S1, S2, S3.

We'll have to see how they work with the different modes.
The fact that they are separate buttons an not a knob makes me think they don't work with the different modes or at least the H1, H2 & H3 don't.

By the way they are grouped you have your sensor light that tells you if you are in night node or night the you have your modes H1, H2, H3, ws1, W2, W3 and Else, you have your Feed and Lock modes and finally you have you 3 speeds that can work with each of the different modes.

At least that is what seems logical by the way it is laid out.

that is the way I see it also. the H1,2,3 will just be constant speeds at diffrent gph and can't use those with the W1,2,3 or else modes

the S1,2,3 are constant speeds at diffrent gph but you can also use these speeds with w1,2,3 or else modes.

but no one will know till the first group gets them :D

What is the purpose of having H1,H2, and H3 if they can't be used in conjunction with w1, w2, w3, and else mode? Isn't that just turning the pump into an ordinary powerhead with no fluctuating flow?

yes, if that is how this controller works, but this way you can have 3 diffrent powerheads all in 1. some people like just running a stright flow and not the wave so this way it will allow for for people to think about buying this pump.
