Jimmy, how can you tell that you have the dimmer set below 5v? Do the lights on the controller shut off?
And flypen, do you have a link?
It looks pretty sweet if it works.
Would be nicer if he created some kind of case for it.
I'm curious what happens if power is lost.
I use a Tunze Safety connector + battery on one of my WP-25s and I had to disconnect that from my Apex because when power is lost, the pump shuts down. With the OEM controller, since the power is plugged into controller the unit, it keeps going on battery.
It seems like this unit controls power from 2 sources for 2 pumps so I imagine this should work but I asked.
There's someone on ebay selling a DIY controller for these.

Yes,
If the lights on the driver goes off then it's less then the 5v. You want to avoid doing that too often, as it CAN ruin the circuitry. Although I've done it quite a lot and haven't seen any ill effects.
However you can also hook up a voltmeter to the canon plug (the one going to the pump itself) and test the voltage there.
Looking at the manual it does look like it uses at least 2 power supplies.
I don't know if there is a third one for the controller it's self.
Unless jebao used a higher rated power supply then what needed for 1 pump, you'll need more current to run the 2 pumps. I don't have the power supply in front of me but I believe for the 40's they're 2.5A. Is that the same for the 10's and 25's? If so, you may get away with 1 power supply to run 2 10's or 25's but doubt it will handle anything above that. But it will be easy to test it. If someone can test max amperage at full power then we can do the math.
The Biggest problem I've run into with these pumps is the cleaning frequency. I can leave Vortech or Tunze powerheads in the tank for 3 months without worrying about flow differences.
I wonder if this new controller will let you do something about scheduling power over months. Month 1: 40% power, Month 2: 60% power, Month 3: 80% power.
Why are so many people insistent on comparing and nitpicking these in relation to pumps that cost 3-5 times more than the Jebao? :deadhorse1:
Why does it bother you? I'm just suggesting how it can be better.
Please continue. Meanwhile, I will be on the family sedan forums comparing a Honda Accord to the Mercedes S550.
