Jebao WP25 Information

Was thinking about getting the wp 25. Would it be to much? Not enough? ext? I do have a lot of rock and its built up in the middle of the tank and goes the whole length of the tank and is probably 6-8 inches from the top of the tank.

You can see on the right hand side where a current powerhead is. I plan on replacing that powerhead with the jebao.

Haha. That's a very old picture of a 50 gallon I used to have. He loves trying to eat the snails on the front glass.

I have a 40 and a 25 in my 65. Neither running full speed obviously. I was running the 40 on else shooting over the top of my rock work for sps. I use the 25 to get the wave look going. Actually had to turn down my 40 after cleaning. I'm just running it on h3 now. It was kicking my tanks butt on else.

I'm running one WP25 in my 90 and it gives good flow. My problem is the sand piles up on one end of the tank along with dead corners at end where mounted, so I'm adding another to the opposite end to counteract this. Will see what happens with two and post.

i think that was the issue with mine. since i cleaned inside impeller its been running full power for 2 weeks now.
with that the whinning noise is going strong can hear it 30' away.

Mine has never had a whining noise, its pretty quiet actually. I sure hope it doesn't develop the noise in the future!

its so annoying i am running it on constant 2nd power. when the pump ramps up on wave modes is when the thing whines. ill post a video of the noise later.

I have a 40 and 25 that I've had since about the time each one of them were released. Over a year on both at this point and I clean them every couple of months, no set routine, just when I feel like it and I have never really had anything more that slime on the prop and some hair algae on the cage.
The only problem I've had is I apparently had an overflow from my denitrification chamber last week and the Reef Angel cable got wet and fried one or more of the resistors or capacitors on the board.
I had a spare cable so i just replaced it and it is working fine now.
I don't understand where the whining noise comes from ....out of the water..lol

How long have you had the pumps?
When I first got my WP-40 there was a whining that I could hear as it changed speeds, some people said it sounded like it was singing.
After about 2-3 months it disappeared.
I don't hear the 40 or 25 at all now.
The only way I know they are on is by seeing the water movement in the tank and even then sometimes when it is on a really slow speed like 30% I can't tell unless I see the prop spinning or put my hand in front of it.
My 40's controller stopped working,...Fishstreet replaced it no questions asked, took 3 days to arrive,...unbelievable!:thumbsup:

Mine are going on something like 6 months and I've noticed these:
1.) One of the 2 I'm running had a whining noise but that's long gone now, they're both nearly silent.
2.) I've cleaned them a couple of times - no major build-up, just the typical brown gook that plagues all impellers.
3.) Very easy to disassemble & clean. I just set them on feed mode to knock them out first then scoop them out, give a quick clean and put them back in before the feed mode times out.
4.) One of mine didn't come with the night mode sensor - I don't care, I don't use them anyway.
5.) I've noticed that sometimes the feed mode won't last the time it's supposed to. Sometimes it only lasts like 10 seconds, sometimes it goes the entire timeframe. This only happens to one of the two. Again, I really don't care about that.
All in all - I think these things are great. I guess if I had a "real" complaint - I would say I wish the cords were just a little longer.

running since 5/19.
ill turn back to wave mode weekly to see if that freakin noise ever goes away.

Mine used to whine, they still might, but I don't pay any mind to it. It wasn't much, not as bad as my mp40 used to. My system is dead silent though, so you can hear any little noise. I moved my sump to a separate room so I didn't have to hear the skimmer and return pump.
I am with you. My WP-40 winding up and down at 100% was less then the MP-10's that I had at one point. I hardly hear it, especially because I only ramp to 80% using my Apex. My fans on my lights are the only 'noise' I hear (soon to be replaced and remedied) as my sump is in another room as well. Still the best pumps I have owned across the board and will always recommend to anyone.
