Jeff's Mr. Aqua 25G Cube

After getting out of the hobby a couple years ago, I decided to get back in but with a smaller tank that would not take up so much time on maintenance. After surfing all of the forum's I based my design on mic209's mr. aqaua 25g rimless cube build.

The tank is 18x18x18, drilled in the middle of the back glass, which was then spray painted black. I then made my own stand from the plans here on reef central http://http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1979001
And keeping with my better half's theme of the house I skinned it in reclaimed pallet wood. http://http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1567110

All of the equipment I am using was bought used from local reefers or on this site.

EQUIPMENT
Vortech MP10W
JBJ Auto top off with Aqualifter pump
Reef Keeper Lite with 2 pc4's
Mag 5 return pump
SCA-301 skimmer
150w HQI mh lamp with no name pendant
15g sump for a total volume of 40g
2-drews dosers that are not in use yet
Filter Guys 5stage RODI unit

Livestock
Mis bar clown
Green Slimmer
Rasta Zoa
Tyree Pink Lemonade
5 blue leg hermits

Total water volume of 40g
30lbs of dry lace rock
20lbs coral substrate

Ive been using Reef Crystals and have noticed my ALK #'s have been off so I have just started dosing B Ionic 2part

I have started slow and don't have much coral yet but wanting to get more. Plan on adding a fuge in the center of the sump here soon.

I have been thinking of getting a Cayman Sun pendant to replace the no name that I have now. Anyone have one of these or know about them? Would it really be any better than the no name brand??

If any one has any hints or suggestions please post!

Lookin good coya, i was wondering when you were going to post a build thread lol. I see that you went with the mh, as far as the pendant itself it just depends on the reflectors. I have the cayman sun and thats all I've ever had, so i can't really compare the two but id say that what you have now should do the job just fine, i wouldn't see why not!
