Hadn't thought about magnets, sure they would work. I just happen to have some stick on velcro on hand.
This is kinda like a snow globe, isn't it. Two little fishes make a flexible nano glass cleaner. I already have one for a 3gal cylinder vase pico tank. They work great on curved glass.
i used four neodymium magnet to hold my door on, it is 3/4" plywood with trim, i just put four screws into the frame of the stand for the magnets to stick too...
you could easily glue magnets to the back of the acrylic (use the 1/8"x 3/4" ones) then you can use a forstner bit to ream out a 1/8" deep hole for the magnets to recess into the plastic of the stand. then directly behind the holes you ream, you could ream another hole 1/8"-1/4" deep and epoxy a magnet into there as well...make sure you get the polarity of the magnets right and she will certainly hold..it actually might not hold to the plastic cover well enough...
i love my TLF mag cleaner...other then it doesnt float...but the magnets are so strong it will pick it up from the other side of the tank...
