Yeah, the thought has crossed my mind.

I'm gonna add 2 more fans to the canopy, then see what this summer is like., If it gets outta control, I may pick up a drop-in. Not sure though.

Jim - I agree with Mark. Get the chiller budget going. Halides in a canopy in that valley heat = toasty fish.

My T5-only tank was up to 80-81 last week when the weather warmed up.

Not sure. i wanted the center fixture to be centered, and because its a SE bulb, it would have to be a little off-center to line up for the best coverage.

I figure the reflectors are square so the coverage should be roughly the same. Just something I thought I'd try

yeah, nows just not a good time to add something that high in price right away. Gonna have wait at least until I get my new skimmer before I'm worried about the chiller. Last summer I was fine with 3 250 MH's. We keep the house relatively cool in the summer, so the thank is okay. Just don't want to spring for one now. Maybe around July. Scubajim's price is great though... doubt I'll find one that cheap in July
