LOL, you've got some crazy respect for Mark! Mark says buy it, and Sexy whips out the credit card :D

My Spectrapure is a 4-stage 90gpd. I'm happy with it. Gives me zero TDS

Yeah the spectarpure is the best unit around. No doubt. Just ask AJ/Azdesertrat. I knows all about these RO/DI units!!

Jim, Its a 75GPD membrane? Those are the most efficient

Thats what I was told. 75gpd.

Seriously though, I'm sure it will give me 0 tds. You can't really get much better than that :)

When I want to swap out the cartridges and RO membrane, I'll get the good stuff and a 10" DI chamber.

This was $150 cheaper than the OR+1 because of shipping time constraints. $150=3 new M58 ballasts for me :) And I'll still get 0 TDS water.

nice. looks like your stuff is coming along. Glad to see it!

If you get Electronic ballast you going to go with Radiums?

Think I wanna sell my 2 XM 20ks and get Radium again. I like the XM. It is a nice bulb,I just like radium on HQI ballast a lot. Never seen it on electronic though. Would assume much more blue!

Fragfarmer has the best deal i have seen on the Radium bulb

Davey

Yeah, my plan is to get 3 galaxy's and run the radiums. But thats in 2-3 months, and now I hear from Warren that the Radiums should only be run on HQI's. I haven't done the research, so I don't know.

My next big purchase will be my new skimmer next month. Mark is holding onto a 6100 for me, but I'm pretty much good to go for now :)

YGPM

I have never heard that about the Radiums.

What is the logic? Maybe that the Electronic under powers them, which is just as bad as overpowering them?

Well if i get my Radium bulb. You are more than welcome to use my PFO magnetic ballast as long as you want!

Yeah, there is a local here that was explaining to me yesterday that vendors are now going to start specifying that the radiums are meant to run on HQI ballasts. Not sure as I haven't done the research yet.

Thats the best part about this hobby :)

Everyone has their own way of doing things :D

Hellio's are the the other route, but.....

I'm still undecided. I'll get a better idea in the next few weeks.

The color of radiums on an HQI is crisper and and since the HQI is a batter ballast, it also has more par. The electronic ballast will give them more of a blue tint. Come on Davey, you should know that as you are always swearing by them.

Mike. The helios are very nice is the 400 version, but in the 250, I think the radiums are a little more crisp and white. Helios are a great bulb though. They are the only 250 DE bulb that I actually liked the results I was getting from them.

I totally understand that. I guess people can really do whatever they want. I even know a LFS that runds 400 watt bulbs on 250 watt ballast.

How is the new SPS addiction coming along?

(ah man, you guys and your edit/deletes :D)

The 250w Radium is better then the Helios, but only for par not looks. :p

Par isn't going to matter much since this tank isn't going to be SPS to start off.

 :celeb1:

I finally got the stoopid ballast to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was getting so frustrated, and I just couldn't figure out what the heck was wrong.

Took everything apart, tested and tested..... Not the bulbs........ Not the ballast....

The freaking common in the plug had come undone

Can you believe it???

Oh well, I rigged it up ghetto fabulous by bypassing the plug and going right from the end of the cord to the ballast

Gotta order up a new plug and I'm good to go.

In other news, I picked up some seachem and RC salt, and the rest of my pvc fittings. A couple more small things and I'm good to go :D

Stop! Colaborate and listen ICE is back!

Tbone I'm starting to see the Mark says Jim whips out the credit card thing. You see Jim just bought some Seachem and RC salt i am sure to mix Mark style:lol:

Jim, Nice catch on the ballast that must have been a $300 relief ey?

I noticed, too. Thought I'd spare Sexy the grief this time around :D Well, Mark's interested in a bucket of Tunze salt. Let's see if Sexy follows :p
