Jonas 3.13, 150G of Miracles fun

Spoke to Miracles today again and they told me I can keep the scratched tank. Too much money for them to ship it back to Canada. I am happy with that and may decide to donate some or all of the proceeds for the current tank to a local charity as a tanks.

So now I have a tank that I need to get rid of before the new one arrives. Any takers? Would prefer local pickups.

Kudos to Miracles. I'll be in the market to purchase a new tank soon. Miracles just jumped up the list!

Yes, Miracles have been nothing but a pleasure to deal with. They really want the customer to get a perfect product and they stand behind it.

2 it has height and covers the space but still looks open and lots of room for corals

looking forward to see how the sump and refugim work out im planning on doing this in my new tank gravity fed fugue

Just to be fair here, Miracles did not do anything wrong with the original holes they drilled. Was my stand builder in combination with me not double checking that caused the issue. Now when I have the opportunity to adjust it make sense to adjust for the stand instead of adjusting the stand itself. Have some pictures showing how much off we are. Will upload them soon.

I have the exact tank from Miracles and love it. I picked mine up in a situation similar to yours. Someone had ordered one and the glass had a haze on it. Turns out that it just had some hard water spots that needed to be buffed out. Miracles told them to keep the "hazed" one and they sent a new one. I bought the "hazed" one on the cheap and fixed it up.

I've since taken the tank down to install hardwood floors and will be setting it back up in a few weeks. I'll be following along for inspiration.

Can you post some close up shots of the overflow and the holes in the bottom?

Here is a picture of the overflow. As you can see my cross beams for the stand is at a very bad location. I am hoping Miracles can make some adjustments to the hole placements with the new tank so I don't have to move the beams.

I will ask them to make two 1.5" holes and two 1" holes. I will use one of the 1.5" as a full siphon and other other as the emergency drain. One of the 1" will be my open channel and the last 1" will be for my return.

A new shipment from BRS arrived today. Got my bulk heads, two gate valves (one for my full siphon drain and one for my return line), filter socks and the APEX Leak Detection Module with two sensors (also known as the ultimate WAF).

I decided to go with the high quality slip-slip Spears Gate valves and man are they big. The 1.5" one is humongous.

This is it next to my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone.

I also stopped by Home Depot after work today and picked up a "bag full of plumbing parts" as well as some PVC pipes.

I really need to start finalizing my plumbing schematics. I have drawn it out on a piece of paper but need to make it in a more permanent form. Still have some time since because of the tank issues but would be good to have it all sorted out. I am sure I still are missing a whole bunch of parts. These things add up quick. Ended up spending a bit over $100 just on the plumbing parts from Home Depot alone.

Finally go the plumbing put on paper. Does this looks like a good plan or am I missing something critical? Depending on what happens I may or may not need/get the chiller before I plumb the tank so eventually it will be added at a later stage. Please comment and critique.

What kind of a return pump will you be using? That's a lot of reactors to feed as well as a chiller and a lot of 90 degree angles to go through. Unless you are planning on running carbon and GFO 24/7, I would run them off independent reactor(s) away from the manifold, but I do see the benefits of your current schematics because you won't have reactor(s) sitting in the sump and contributing additional heat from the pump(s).

I'm glad that Miracles took good care of you. I'll have to remember that the next time I upgrade/order a tank.

The return pump will be a RLSS DC-12000. The sketch i made does not show the actual plumbing route but more the general concept of how to connect things. Will be utilizing 45 degree elbows as much as possible.
