JonnyU's 180 Rebuild

Well as most of my local reef club know. I have been changing around tanks over the last year. I had a established 180 that I ended up selling due to selling my home.

I started a 75 gallon reef to keep myself in the hobby as I had my house for sale and a 75 would be easy to move. Here is a pic of stand I was built for the 75

Well long story short we ended up not selling the house and deciding to stay. So my wife wanted a place she could sit and view the tank from so I built a bar

Well a few months later my wife tells me she really does not like the tank and that she misses the 180. So now here I am again changing tanks. [emoji37] it's been a roller coaster of ups and downs in the hobby the last few months as I seen I have spent more time working taking stuff down just to put it back together. Well now that you know my reef life story here is my build thread

For my lighting I found a 10 bulb ATI fixture that I really like. I was trying to find a spectra light but they are so hard to find. So for now ATI it is.

Now for rock work I really wanted to do something way different than what I was use to. I wanted a floating style reef with Tonga branches. I feel as it will be a good look with mostly SPS. So I just started putting the rock work together

I'm placing everything together with zip ties and then cement and epoxy.

Well cut all zip ties and added some more pieces and move things around (after dropping the structure [emoji24]) what a pain it is to glue and epoxy this stuff together. So I think this is what my final look will be

Thank you

Well painted the stand, painted my sump, and had some fun in the attic. Installed the ATI hanging kit. I used a 12" steel bar and through bolted it. Then went it attic and placed bolt through hole. Then I used a black sprinkler tube as conduit to bring USB and 1/4" water lines to my tank from my fish room. This way I can hook a ATO and AWC for the tank.

The wavy wall covering sure is eye grabbing. What is it made of? It looks like sand along the ocean where the water ripples it.

Thanks it's wall panels you buy from Lowes. You order online and pick up in store. The get glued and then caulked and painted. Little time consuming but I thought it would be worth it.

Started the cycle. Dosing ammonia and used fritz turbo start. It took about 30ml of ammonia.

So I have been processing around 30ml of ammonia in about 10-12 hours.
First dose took 48 hrs
2nd dose took 36hrs
3rd 24 hrs
4th 18hrs
5th 12hrs
6th 10hrs
I think I'm good with that. So I'm going to run some water test and see where I stand on everything. I'm thinking fish on Monday. I have 1 rabbit fish, 1 magnificent foxface , 1 tomini tang and 4 clowns going in. They have been isolated for 3 weeks and medicated for 7 days just for extra precautions.

Ran all my ATO lines AWC lines and USB to my water station outside. 150ft away. What a pain in the butt to keep all lines tangle free. I am glad it's all over. Now I need to hook up my apex.
