This will be a slow build. With only 3 hrs a day to build . Well here's a little background at the present time I have a 90 gal with a 20 gal frag tank and a 55 gal sump. I'm upgrading to a 150 gal given to me by another reefer who upgraded himself. Hopefully he does a build thread . Well the Im going to be using pretty much everything I can from 90 gal for this 150.

I have been pretty busy these past 2 weeks building the stand from scratch her are some pics.

Building the doors using tongue and groove joints

Had to build 4 doors so that I keep the open span without a center brace.

Doors finished

Now doors are hung on the stand , as u can see I made the doors bi-folds so that I would have the opening clear w/o the center brace

I am going to try to use about 320lbs in my 150 and hope for aroudn 2-3" i havent done it yet so i cant tell you but i think it should be right. ill be tagging along on this one to see what you do

Great looking stand. I sure wish I had skills like that. My wife keeps trying to get me to do something like that on my 125g and I just don't know what the hell I'm doing. Anyways looks great.

One question...do you think the 2 x 250 is going to be enough coverage? I ask because I have 3 x 250 and 2 x 150 HQI over my 6 footer. My first time with a 6 footer so I'm trying to get an idea from other members of the 6' club.

Thanx saltysailer stand wasn't that hard to do just time consuming.

Answer to your answer is Im not sure , I hope ,the reflectors I purchased have a 2x2 coverage. So that will give a 4' coverage. I'm thinking of just building 2 rock towers so the light should cover the area where the corals should be. Plus. I'm adding 4 - 39watt t5 's as well. I'm thinking we're the lights aren't as intense thats we're I could put more of the low lightening corals.
Any thoughts ????

Here's a pic of the tank nothing special....
72L x 18W x 27H W/dual overflow box 2 11 drains and 2 1" returns
