So is this a lower light SPS? I have my version about 8" from the surface of the water and my Reefbreeders fixture is about 8" above the water. i have great growth but it is mostly green with thinner branches and it doesn't extend the polyps like yours does. I think the polyp extension issue might be due to the extreme flow it's in. The area of the coral that is shaded by the center brace has purple tips, which is why i'm thinking it's the lighting.

Ive noticed with my BOP is that the shaded parts have bushy purple polyps while the areas in higher lights do not have as much polyp extension and the color is not as rich. Could be coincidence though.
