I finally was able to get a shot of my newest addition to the tank. My Japanese swallowtail angel.

Nice fish! Just for the record it's a Blackspot Swallowtail (Genicanthus melanospilos) not a Japanese Swallowtail (Genicanthus semifasciatus)

What I can't believe is how you got the Tangs to pose in the same position. LOL

You sent me back to page 9 and this is what I found. Any new progression shots? Thanks.

Thanks for the correction. I thought they were one in the same. Most online dealers state them as Japanese also known as blackspot angelfish. This fish was even on the stores shipping list as a Japanese. It is funny how names get passed along to different fish in the same family. Thanks BangkokMatt, now I should be asking for a Male blackspot angel.;)

I don't have any new shots of the tank yet. The background needs to be scraped of coraline algae before I do. A few updates. The Elegance doesn't expand as much as it used to, I have tried different part of the tank: more light, less light , less flow, for random flow, but nothing seems to please it. The sting is still very much there and eagerly excepts food, it just does not expand the way it used to. I am leading to believe my water may be to clean. If anyone has any suggestion I am willing to try anything. The only other casualty was the fast growing and large quad colored pocilipora located on the upper left pillar is wasting away. Everything else just keep growing and is doing well.

UPDATE

It has been a while without an update. A month ago I had a alk spike after I cleaned my CR and replaced the media. I lost nearly all my montis, my favorite quad colored poccilipora and a few assorted acros. My green chromis # dwindled down to two. But everything else has been doing great.

Thanks thor32766. The spotted cheek and the sailfin were not being photogenic last night. The royal gramma is quite large. I got him a black cap basslet, purple pseudochromis, yellow watchman/jawfish and a Banded Coral Shrimp off a local reefer that was taking down his tank.

JR - looking very good. Sorry to hear about the alk spike, but it looks like you've bounced back.

Any idea how exactly cleaning the CA reactor caused the alk spike? I'm about to set mine up, and would like to avoid a similar problem.

Thanks GSMguy, acropora nut and mcliffy2.

It was my stupid mistake. I left the influent too high with a low PH made my levels go up. I tested my alk and it didn't occur to me that the numbers were way to high. I also lost my elegance and purple/ green blastos that I have had for over 7 years. lesson learned.

A couple more shots of the tank

JR - I've got some purple/green blastos that i picked up at a CMAS frag swap. Maybe the same ones? If I can figure out how to frag them, you are welcome to a couple heads.
