Now if I can only get my influent valve from clogging I will be in good shape. [/B]

I wish my ASM G3 could produce like that!!

A few ideas that popped into my head:

If you add water to it will it dilute it and flow?? You could have a small pump on an electronic timer/controller feed to a PVC tube with some holes in it to rinse down the inner/outer diameter of the cup.

Eliminate the right angle out of the cup if you can.

You could set up some sort of a venturi (think chem lab filter setup) to suck it out.

You could also increase the diameter of the hole in the bottom of the cup to allow it to drain better.

Yeah more pics! I'd definitely like to see one of an influent valve. :p

Always have to be there to bust my balls. :D You know I meant effluent valve. I really have to get a better valve otherwise I may just go back to two part. Tank has really taken a hit over that past couple of months due the alk swings from the CR troubles. I will attempt to take a few more shots to show my losses in the next couple of days. Happy Easter everyone.

Finishing up the manifold, tuck neatly and out of the way

The manifold will feed the calcium reactor and phosban reactor. It also has a valve to bleed off extra pressure from the Dart Pump and two returns.
Hello Jeremy --- I know your a busy guy, but can you please answer a question for me? I just finished my manifold and got the system operational. Can you please tell me if I'm suppose to leave the Pressure Valve on my manifold open or closed?
Thanks ---
Chris

Depends on if it is needed or not. The Dart is too much flow for my set up and the bleed valve was the only way around it at the time. If your tank has too much flow than you will also leave it wide open.

Thanks for the quick response Jeremy.

Yes, I've noticed that when the valve is closed the water level in both overflows surge up and down. Is this due to the pump? I also noticed that when the valve is open I'm not getting much water flow from the returns. I designed my manifold to supply water to the Chiller, CAT 2, Calcium Reactor and Media Reactors. Do you think that once my other equipment are hook-up and are functional, from the manifold, I would be able to close the valve to get more water flow from the returns?

Just one more thing. I just received the pump and bubble plate for my CAT 2 External today. It came with the other half of the unions that are already attached to the Skimmer. Do I glue both of the unions into place on the pump?

Thanks buddy,
Chris

You should be able to close the bleed valve once everything is hooked up and running. Place the pump on the skimmer and tighten down the unions while it is dry (no glue). Mark where they sit then remove glue and while the glue is still wet try to get it back on the skimmer and let it set up. The input union will stick out a little bit from the volute while the output should mount all the way back.

Jeremy,

I am planning a tank similar in size to yours. Approx 260 gallons with sump and frag tank. Im still not decided on a skimmer. I might have a lead on a used Reeflo 250 with the new motor // but im wondering if that is to big of a skimmer. I am also wondering how the new ATB skimmer has been working for you. If you had to choose, would you do the 250 or the ATB?

thanks..

I personally think the Reeflo 250 would be too large for your setup. I really like my ATB econo 840 as it is one of the best skimmers I have owned but feel it might be too small for you and an Econo 1050 would be a better fit. There are tons of skimmers on the market today with competitive pricing you just don't want to go too large without future plans of upgrading.

Hey Jeremy, I don't quite understand what you mean by ".... then remove glue and while the glue is still wet try to get it back on the skimmer and let it set up."

Place the fitting where they need to be glued and while it they are still wet and pliable place on the skimmer tighten the unions so that they are a perfect match for your skimmer.

Ok, Thanks Jeremy, now I understand.

Jeremy, have you had any problems with your Reeflux bulbs burning different colors ??? How are the CV ballasts holding up ???

I have never had any problems with Reeflux bulbs burning different colors, at least for the 12ks I have used. One of my CV ballasts had trouble starting on my controller but was quickly handled (replaced) by Coral Vue. To this day I still have not had one thing bad to say about my entire lighting setup.

I have tried and tested the 20k Reeflux. I currently run a 20k in the center reflector along side two 12k Reeflux. I will be going all 20k Reeflux when my bulbs are due for a change.

I had two different color 12K ReefLux. After close inspection, the bulb I purchased elsewhere (not from Reef Specialty). Was labled Ventura.
The other bulb I purchased Reef Specialty was a 12K ReefLux.
