JR Aquatics 180 Gallon Nano Reef

And while we're at it, add two more vortech's to back up the two you have and three more halides in case the bulbs burn out.

Might as well add another skimmer too just in case.... ;)

Sorry, I just had to.

LOL. I read that, an I will be staying away. I wish Scott the best of luck. That is why I have $800 worth of powerheads in my tank that will be on icecap battery backup.

well when you boys get some real water volume to move, you'll understand....LOL

Let me know when your selling your tanks, I could use some new sumps.....cause I have three pumps to stick in them.....OMG, I'm IMSANE!!!  :fun2:

Why don't you step up to the plate and grow some big boy corals. I grew out out of mushrooms, ricordias and LPS long ago. Size isn't everything unless you have something to show for it:p

Did you drill the glass for the Dart feed yourself or did you take it to the glass shop? The local LFS recommended I do NOT do it myself, but then again what does he know. This is the only dliemma right know that is holding up my project. Get a glass breeder tank and drill it myself or get an acrylic one built.

I had my buddy at my local fish store (Exotic Aquatics) drill it for me. It is not that hard to drill glass, but he does it all the time so why take the risk. The key of drilling glass is to have a template and area to hold the water while drilling.

My new build was 75% exactly what you have except for the lighting. You have given me some excellent ideas, especially the manifold. I flirted with the idea of Coralvue ballasts and Reeflux bulbs about a year ago but just ended changing the bulbs from 14K Hamilton to 10K Ushio. But after reading your threads, AcroporaNuts and a few others I am convincing myself to go for the Coralvue way. I will be calling Mike at Reef Spiacialty on Friday when I get out of this god forsaken place (India) even though it has given lots of free time to read the forums when I am up at 3 am. My question is why you chose the 250 instead of the 400W route? Since I will have the exact same tank as yours, and yours looks great with the 250s, I am wondering why should I burn the extra electricity. But I can still justify the 400s since I will not be running any additional T5 supplementation.

I didn't need to use 400s over my tank with the LB reflectors. I am getting plenty of light penetration at the bottom of my tank. My wife and I did not to have to run a chiller and waist unnecesary electricity. Go with the CoralVue lighting set up, you will not be dissapointed with the results you will get.

Some new stuff I picked up this weekend for the tank. I give my self a pat on the back that not one item was an SPS.

Well if you ever decide to take a trip out to EA, you shoot by my place.

I should be out there shortly to pick up a QT tank I'm getting from a guy I work with.

The updated FTS looks good to me btw ;) My heart lies in SPS, but I really like how you are working in the LPS. Even tho its fairly common, a large brain like the one on the right side adds so much to a tank.
