Updated FTS. I seem to be having a hard time getting a good shot. Maybe time to get a new camera.

Lookin good, I like the shelves you incorporated into the rock. Is that a Sailfin in the lower right corner?

Hey JR,

Do you have the exact type of paint that you used on the back of your tank? I see it is 'Navy' and from 'Ace' but what is the finish? Is there a specific color number I can ask for?

Thanks.

Nick

do u think i can connect my computer fan to the moon light?

Can I ask why you would want the fans hooked up to your moon lights. You only should have to run your fans during the day when your lights are on. And the moonlight should only run at night, so basically on reverse cycles.

oh...thats ture....but i dont how what i should hook them up 2. they are just wires that connect to the computer . not in to an outlet.

Go to an electrinics store or harware store and get yourself some wire and a male plug end. This is only if it is 120v and not a 12v. If it's a 12v fan then you will have to get a converter. IMO I would spend the extra$ and get fans that are more suited for SW hobby.

JR....Is there a reason you decided not to go bare bottom?? Just wondering b/c I'm thinking of going bare bottom on my new setup. I get tired of sand being pushed around in my current setup and know with even more flow in the new setup I'll be fighting it. I already lost a nice 4" Red Open Brain b/c of sand being pushed over it i the middle of the night. I WAS ****ED!!

Honestly, I think about removing it every day. I have a couple of open brains and lobos that get covered randomly but never damages them. I just hate the look of a bare bottom tank. I am debating on getting the large crushed coral for the front and remove some of the sand or just removing some of the sand from the front of the tank and leaving the sand in the back. If you plan on doing an SPS tank with lots of flow and don't mind the look of a bare bottom, I would suggest to go BB but paint the undersid/bottom of the tank.

What color should I paint it?? I thought about painting it black just as my back wall and sides are painted. I wouldn't want to paint it white b/c any green algae growth would REALLY stand out on white. I know the bottom will eventually be covered in coraline and other life so I'll probably go black.

Your really not going to see the color unless you look top down. Otherwise all you should see is the reflection of what is in the tank. Black would be my second choice of color. I would choose white though because it will make your tank look brighter due to its reflective properties.
