If you want to get into corals, the first thing i would do is get rid of the hydrometer and get a refractometer with 35 point calibration solution. Second would be test kits for alk, calc, and mag.

looks pretty good, I'd move that powerhead and heater off to the side. Then swap out the hydrometer for a refractometer.

Judge?

Ok, I hereby judge your tank with a sentence of a lifetime filled with colorful happiness. May your coral and fish ever flourish, entertaining you with amazement, and bring a bountiful fulfillment of joy.

Looks great so far.:fish1:

Hahaha, well I mean based off the images I wanna hear peoples thoughts about it. I still do not have any fish so I can still move a lot of things around still. This is my first ever reef tank so I am just trying to make sure I am doing everything properly.

A refractometer is ideal, but you can make a hydrometer work if you are on a tight budget. A couple of the biggest points would be to rinse with clean water after every use so salt does not build up and alter readings. Also, flick or tap off the arm to be sure that there are no air bubbles that would alter the reading.

This . or use a Glass hydrometer what i do... I could buy a refractometer but But but.. well .. The hydrometer is good.. As said Just be sure to keep it clean and rinse with fresh water after each use.....

Get rid of HOB filters replace with skimmer. Throw away hydro and replace with refractormeter.

Maybe add some more rock to create more cave like aquascape most fish will want that to feel at home.

I see you mentioned a dip stick to test nitrate. THROW THAT AWAY! no more dip sticks. API is fine but you should be using the bottle liquid testers.

Agree with everyone above refractometer, sailfret test kits for calc, alk, mag and phosphate.

API liquid testers for nitrate, nitrites and ammonia.
