July Meeting

Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is excited about the meeting this July. I am going to be hosting the meeting at my house. The address is 1804 Fraternity park drive, UT campus. Yes that is correct, I am currently living in a fraternity house. Don't be alarmed, I do not live here permanantly. I am in the process of moving from one house to another. I am on the Tennessee Fraternity housing corp, so they gave me permission to live her during the summer.

The reason I wanted to host a meeting is so that everyone can see my fish tank, and I believe this is a perfect location for such a meeting. There are very large rooms to eat and an extremely large room with leather couches that will be perfect for the meeting. There is also a large patio (can hold over 100 people) that overlooks the baseball field. Despite what some of you may be thinking, the house is clean and does not carry most of the typical movie cliches.

As for food: I am not sure but I believe we do a pot luck??? and everyone brings something? We have 2 grills here and I can easily fire up some burgers and dogs. I will make a new thead for a list of what everyone wants to bring.

Now we just need to decide on a time. I will be ready for any time, you guys just decide when.

Awesome!! I'm glad you are hosting Geoff...that's great to see some newer people hosting meetings.

Unfortunately, my husband and I will be in Nashville this weekend so I won't be able to go! I'm sorry about that. I hope it will be great anyways.

Hmmm, I haven't been to the main campus beyond Neyland Stadium since 1999... lol Should be fun though... Looking forward to it... :)

I plan to be there. I'll get totally lost since I have no campus experience. Hopefully mapquest will pull thru once again.

I used to live right down the row from you @ Lambda Chi Alpha house back in the day. Need any help tappin' the keg or making jello shots for the party, uh , I mean the meeting, I got skills!

A tank at a frat house? I'm surprised anything is still alive in there, but then again, it's probably a good example of the effectiveness of the vodka method! Just pick a time Geoff although I'll probably take the family to the Cherokee Caverns open house before hand.

I need to talk to the wife but hopefully we can make it. If we can I will get her to make some side dishes for Mel and post in the other thread:)
Is it ok to bring kids?
Chris

Let's meet at 2 pm. Yes kids can come. For those of you that are not sure where exactly the house is, Mapquest helps and it is right by "the Rock."

Ahh, if it were at noon, I could swing by. I promised to help shoot a wedding reception at Calhouns, at 1:30

I look forward to August then

I was planning on coming but I got a phone call last night from my parents telling me they were coming for a visit. Hopefully see everyone in August. I keep missing meetings due to other people's shedules.

I'm so disappointed that I won't be able to make it to the meeting. I'm very excited about joining the club and finally meeting you all, but I have a prior engagement this Saturday. However, I have the third Saturday in August free, and I'm going to make sure it stays free so I can make it next month. :-)

Sounds great Geoff, I'm planning to be there. This is one meeting I won't need to mapquest. Hopefully there will be some members who can attend.

Does anyone have specific (or not) topics for discussion that they would like to suggest? I'm thinking it may be a good idea to keep a running list of discussion topics, demonstrations, etc that we can pull from and use as we are able and as interest grows.

Matt

bumber that so many arent coming but at least it gives a good head count. Ouch, I just counted only 3 coming: Randy, Matt and myself. And it's Thursday already... Many seem to not commit but do show up so hopefully that is the case again this time since we've had such good turn-out lately.

If it were'nt for the seemingly low turn-out, I would have suggested talking with the club about the future direction they would like the new officers to take as a goal(s).

I think I'm bringing my princess! Papaw's princess that is.
