In may 2008 we placed our house up for sale. The market in our area was heavily saturated and we had no idea when we would sell our house. The only thing I knew for sure was this: Moving a 60G full blown reef tank wasn't going to happen, so up for sale it went.

The tank sold within a week and was moved soon after.
I also had a 40G with a Bimac octopus. I couldn't bare to sell him when he was so close to the end of his lifespan, so I choose to keep him

The "Kraken" soon met the end of his lifespan 4 months later. I broke down the tank and sold off most of the rock. Our house still hadn't sold so I decided to take the remainder of the live rock and start a little 10G FOWLR to keep me happy until the house sold. Currently, it houses a pair of baby true percula clownfish.

Two weeks ago we finally found a buyer for our house after nearly a year of waiting. I nearly jumped when I heard the news because it meant I could finally start a new reef. I wasn't sure what size tank I wanted but I knew I wanted it to me relatively small at 40 gallons or smaller. Walking through the isles of petco looking for cat food I came across a 33L that was 50% off. It had been a custom ordered product but the customer never came to pick it up. I jumped at the chance and before I knew it, I had it in my cart. I ran over to Home Depot to get some lumber to build a stand...I was finally getting ready to start a reef again.
Two days later I had a partial frame built

But the stand wasn't very level and had a horrible wobble in it due to a warped 2x4. I ripped it apart and searched out some higher quality lumber

I finally found some decent lumber and finished the stand within a couple of days

I wired up my *top of the line* Woods/Belkin lights/filtration controller

I also picked up a Glo Retrofit HO T5 kit from DF&S which just came in today

More pics to come, we close on our house on the 27th, tank should see water on the 28th!
