June NARC meeting

If you do workout a group buy, I will take a bag of the Mag chloride and a bag of Calcium chloride.

Let me know who to pay and how...

Tomoko you have a PM...

Hello, I sent Nicole an email about attending the meeting. I am not very knowledgeable about this hobby yet, but I might be good for a laugh or two :) .

Does anyone have any further thoughts on a presentation topic? Some examples of stuff I would feel comfortable with are:

-Moving with a reef tank (my cross-country trek in a blizzard)
-Raising clownfish
-Pairing & Raising C. cinctus (yellow watchman gobies)
-Rotifer culturing
-Soft coral propagation (but that's better done as a real workshop some time)
-Quarantine 101

I will bring some drinks. Hope corona light is ok. ;) j/k

I am also planning on bringing some chaeto for any that need it. I have two varieties, curly/wiry and another that is soft and flowing.
Also, if anyone is interested I can bring some saltwater mollies. My DT isn't quite ready and my fuge has just had a population explosion. I don't have any predators to eat them yet.

Calcium chloride has gone up to .28/pound or $14.00 for a 50 pound bag plus tax.

So far only one person has expressed an interest in these so I can order that and deliver locally or at the meeting on the 23rd.

Just wondered if anyone else is interested?

He also gave me an update on his 55G outside in his back porch area:

Also for all interested:

I am so glad NARC members got to see my 55g last month. I especially (now) appreciate the comments on how large the banggai was.

The Banggai died this week. Temperature in tank is over 90 degrees plus the cardinal did have what seemed to be a mouth fungus a few months back. His mount was open wide for a week or two. All other fish appear fine but corals have suffered.

He also had been in the tank over 4 years and was that large size right at the beginning. So I estimate his age to be over 6 years.

To me anyone who starts a fish tank thinking all the fish will be there 5 years later is unrealistic. But then a lot of marine fish do have long life spans. For that matter FW also.

But I do miss tank friends when they pass.

I will be running late as I may have to work till noon on saturday .... nothing like being the last one to a party :( ...lol...

Just a reminder guys, the meeting is this Saturday. Don't bring food, but do bring:

Or get the directions from http://www.northalabamareefclub.com/

I will be able to make it. Didn't think I could before thats why I didn't chime in earlier , Does anyone have any frags? I would like to start on some SPS if anyone has any. I have my tank up and running now so I am in the process of stocking it up.
Thank you,

Perferbly something colorful, maybe pink, reds greens blues. I have a lot of tan corals now, toadstools, leathers, xeina, anything with some color would be much appreciated. I have quite a lot of green stars now thanks to the last meeting :)

My order for 50 pounds bags of magnesium and calcium chloride is in huntsville.

The cost for both bags is $33.00.

I ordered an extra set so if anyone wants them they will be available at the next meeting.

If not then I have 100 pounds extra. LOL

Of course I will have my free samples also for the frag swap. If anyone interested in a few pounds it would help if they brought their own container. 3 pound coffee cans work nicely.

I am VERY new to this hobby, I would like to come to your meeting if it is ok to do so.
I am in Huntsville and have just registered to get direction to the meeting.
I would greatly appreciate it if any of you have any frag that you are willing to part with I would put them to good use. As I said I am new to this hobby and only have a few items in my tanks.

Welcome to NARC, us01male!
Please come to our meeting and join the fun!
I am planning on bringing some frags to the meeting. Other people might bring some, too. What kind of lighting do you have?
