June NARC meeting

I plan to be attending and would like some frags to start with as well, preferably softies or Zoa's as I only have 130W PC lighting until I upgrade tanks later this year.

Hey folks,

Somebody bring lettuce, please. (Just a little!) The idiot at the grocery store couldn't manage to ring it up.

Also, I have a scutus limpet that I think is starving in my small holding tank. He is losing his mantle. Although, I have had him for many years and he may simply be dying of old age. But if you have a larger tank and could use a film algae eater, please let me know and he's yours! I have him in a bucket right now with the botrycladia algae I am also giving away.

I pulled out huge clumps of this pretty red algae today and will have lots to give away.

The limpet is yours, Harry. I hope he recovers. I'll miss his diligent efforts, but I guess he couldn't compete with the snails. :(

Nicole,
I sent you an email about location, etc for the meeting to the gmail address you posted. Let me know what I can bring to help out. Thanks!

I will be bringing some chaeto and mollies for anyone that wants them.
Anyone have a predator? :)

I am also bringing some drinks, and cups.

Harry and others.

1) I will have 4-6 gallon bagies of chaeto for anyone who wants them. (as I said a whole lot LOL).

2) I have 50 pounds bag of calcium chloride and a 50 pound bag of magnesium chloride. $34 for both.

3) Free 3 gallon coffee can size calcium chloride, magnesium chloride for anyone (or anywon? ) who wants it.

Anyone interested is seeing my 1g FW nano? It has already been labeled as absurd on the net. Well pictures anyway. LOL. still cycling. Hopefully a unicycle, hate the bicycle. takes twice as long.

I would love to get in return some zooz, xenias, leathers, or other soft corals and possibly a small frag of a hard coral to see how it responds to higher lighting in the 29g.

I respectifully request dibs on some of the red algae.

double dibs

double double double pretty please dibs.

LOL

See ya there.

Got lots of algae, Bob. Your name is on some. I think Tomoko wanted some and I promised her some snails as well.

Hardly anyone RSVP'd so I have no idea how many people are coming. Hope there is enough food; it's a long trek to the grocery store for burgers. (This coming from someone who is usually prepared to feed an army... LOL.)

If you are looking for something to bring:
chips and snacks
condiments (ketchup and mustard)
dessert
your own beverages
ice
lettuce (Please don't everyone bring lettuce. It's just for the burgers.)

If you have one of those nifty folding chairs, bring it.

I look forward to seeing everyone around noon. The topic will be "Captive Breeding of Cryptocentrus cinctus," which will cover selecting fish to pairing to larval food requirements and then on to what everyone really wants: the baby pictures.

Lad is pretty bashful around strangers, so don't count on getting a live glimpse of the wonder fish.

I am sorry that I cannot make it now. I am going to D.C. and have to leave at 12. Wasn't planing on leaving till 4 but plans got changed.

Hope everyone has a good time.

Curtis

Thanx for opening your house to us for the meeting Nicole. The hospitality, food, presentation, and fellowship was excellent. You will be a valuable asset to NARC.

Thank so everyone for coming and being such great guests. I am glad to see NARC has such a nice and knowledgeable group and I look forward to seeing more of ya'll.

Please forgive me if I forget everyone's names. In fact, I can't even remember them NOW, those that I was told, anyway. I think I have Bob down pretty good, but pardon me if I regress occasionally and call you Steve.

And Tomoko, of course -- too few women in this hobby! For the rest of you... just tell me your name another 10 or 12 times and hopefully it will stick.

Working on the presentation this week meant going through many old photos and that combined with getting a dose of reef talk after many months without, I am inspired to finally build that tidal lagoon I always wanted since I set up my very first tank. It's time to start designing it.

Thank you everyone, The meeting was fun and informative. It was great meeting everyone and getting to see who is behind the names on here. I want to thank Nicole for inviting everyone to her house and being such a great host.

Thank you very much for hosting us and feeding us, Nicole! Your presentation was excellent!! It was great meeting you finally. I hope to repay you one day for the generous gift of Botryocladia and Strombus grazer snails.
