June power bill

Anyone else have sticker shock over there power bill for the first month of summer and are you going to cut back on anything?
What it too much for you, mine was 465.

Mine went from 368 to 560

Check your pumps. Theyre usually the issue, not the lights.

1 100w pump puts a lot more heat in your water (that needs to be chilled) and uses almost as much electricity as a 400w halide.(24h vs 7 h running)

My increase was because I added the 3-250w, and 260w of PC, plus another 20g setup, and it has been really HOT in Texas

Wow, I thought mine was bad at $330...

When I opened the bill, I about had a heart attack! We are living on my single income, so I just took my budget and threw it in the garbage

Mine is around low 300's .

Rich , It's not so much the tanks but the AC's. With all this dam heat they are working hard to keep the homes livable.

God , I miss my townhouse, my Electic bill was around 80 bucks on a 1,350 ft townhouse , lol

I run from $320 to $380 in the Summer, Does Get hot down here in the Houston Area..

I also average ~ 350 this time of year, it does get hot but we make up for it with beautiful winters and next to no energy bills for 4 or so months.

I shouldn't complain but mine is under 100.00, and my tank is on 24/7 plus 2 29g tanks, 1 freshwater and 1 saltwater QT with power compacts, my main tank is 125 with T5HOs 14 bulbs in all

I went from $168 to $278 for June. 3BR brick home with central A/C. Waiting for the really hot months of July/August.

This month was our catch-up month and WOW. My wife expected to pay around $300+, but $600+ was too much.

I don't have a chiller, but my A/C hasn't been off in 2 - 3 weeks. Plus didn't the cost of electricity go up recently?

mines 450 stays steady year round ( im in florida)
but i live in a condo so we have almost a attic that has ac ( people above us) and that helps so that our ac runs the least

funny.. every ones ac runs longer then ours yet wee have ours set colder then any one elses
