Junior's Reef

Dude that is themost beautiful emporer ive ever seen and one of the most beautiful tanks for that matter. How big is junior? He looks like hes easily over a foot?

I think he about ElevenTeen inches in length.....

;)

JK...I'd put him at about 12-14 inches based on the photo's Gary's posted over the years.

Thats awesome thanks guys. Gary he is incredible. My buddy has a juvi that is in the process of changing over and he too is a garbage disposal. Beautiful fish you have there

Awesome tank Gary, and Junior is looking great. I spent hours reading your threads Junior's Reef and New Canvas.

can you summarize your fish and corals list ?

I am building a 185 reef and was wondering what types of lps and softies would go good with "tom" my emporer.....all questions answered........thanks for posting and great reading and beautiful tank.......hope mine looks like that someday down the road

June 2013 updates

look closely and you can see the Montipora skeleton (now completely dead) has become the anemone's new perch

it's mass has increased with no change in it's feeding regimen

in this pic you can see the warty colored verrucae this species is known for as well as eggs (inside the anemone)

in the pic below you can see where the path of destruction went up the rock wall. I salvaged some corals and placed them down there. Once in awhile the gigantea will stretch DOWNWARDS to try and kill those corals!

thanks

thanks

remember: search compatibility of species and if an animal occurs on or near a coral reef it EATS something on or near a coral reef.

REEF SAFE is NOT a good term to use :)
