Just a little confused

Finally got my first fish, a beautiful clown fish of course! I have been doing some research on proper clown diets and I seem to be getting conflicting information from everywhere I go.

First question, which I know this site answers, but what is a good food for my clown? I was using flakes but I was told that wasn't very healthy for him so I went out and bought bloodworms following advice from someone else. Now I'm reading that bloodworms aren't that great. If not them, what do you suggest?

Also, some sites say feed twice a day regularly but others say just once a day.
What's your suggestions?

I believe in feeding a variety of food, but feed mostly mysis, enriched brine, and cyclopeeze to my adults. They like pellets, flake, and Rods Food too.

Mine are fed frozen food once a day, and I have an auto feeder that feeds a mixture of pellets and flake few more times (mostly because I also have anthias in the same tank.

If it is still a juvenile, feed at least twice a day.

And of course, we need pics!

I agree with above - I feed Mysis, Brine, pellets. Usually 1x of frozen and 1x pellets.

The best strategy is to feed a variety of foods, and not just feed the same thing over and over. Luckily, clowns are usually not picky and will readily eat any of the foods described below.

Frozen: Mysis and other frozen foods like Rod's or Rogger's or even your own mix of frozen shrimp, squid, etc. from the grocery store, are all good. Brine is good to get picky eaters started, but is of very little nutritional value, so I would skip it.

Pellet/Dried food: New Life Spectrum pellets are a good staple food and most fish will gobble them up. Some flakes are ok as part of the overall food mix, but I think pellets pack more nutritional punch. Flake foods can have a lot of phosphates, too.

Bloodworms: I don't feed bloodworms anymore - they're not really worms, they're insect larvae with an internal skeleton that is hard on a fish's digestive tract. Live blackworms are much better, but you have to keep them alive in your fridge or set up a separate system for them. So most people don't bother unless they've got a picky fish that won't eat anything else (like some butterflies).

Most fish, clowns included, are fine with once-a-day feedings. I feed mine once a day most days, with more frequent feedings on the weekend when I'm home.
