........................................................................................................
also guys do any of ya have or know of where i could buy me 5 gallon or so canasters that i can use to make up salt water? im breaking down and just putting my rodi unit and such in the laundry room and im trying to see how i can do this with no room,i thoughtid have my rodi unit drop its water into a canaster of sorts that has a pump for mixing in it and then from there i can have it pumped or driped into a normal 5 gallon jug that i can then fill my sump...ill just have ta haul it from one side of the house to the other lol well all help appreciated :D

Mario, I have 6 5 gallon jugs sitting in my driveway. you are welcome to a pair of them next time I head your way. that said, go to home depot and buy 5 gallon homer bucket and lid. they seal air tight and would work well for what you are doing.

or go to walmart or lowes and buy those 5 gallon water jugs like for the water machines that have the caps that fit on thats what I use can buy a few fill them up and stick em somewhere out of the way :)

Walmart also has 7 gallon jugs called Aqua-Tainer. They should be near the fishing/outdoors section. I used these when I moved from VA and when I have to remove water from the main tank.

im gonna try a bucket with a shut off valve for my rodi in it and use a pvc gate valve as a drain for it to go into a jug to transport to my display......is it cool to mix my salt in the same bucket that gets my clean rodi water and do ya think that a regular float shut off work in a bucket for my rodi?
also thanks pickup for the idea :D

Mario. they have those float valves and while that would work you also need to make sure you have an autoshut off valve on your system too. this valve uses the pressure from the good side to shut off teh bad so you dont waste water. without it, you will waste extra water. have you thought about just using a rubermaid tote for water storage? at my old house, i had one up on a shelf in teh garage that I filled every week. I drilled a hole in it and then screwed in a quick fitting to connect that 1/4" line to. for me the line ran down under the house and into my sump, but you could just use a short piece of line and a valve.

these are only a couple bucks at Home depot or Lowes. they use the same tubing as on your RODI. I also recomment you have one of them on the inlet to your rodi anyways.

i have an auto shut off on my rodi though i think the back pressure makes the fitting on the out end of the di leaks so im not sure,i may have to replace that fitting and i have to see if a tote will fit,if so which one....the clear ones?
