Hey Roger, please give me a recommendation on your favorite toys for this tank. There will be no closed loops, the tank will have limited access to the back so don't want to deal with plumbing.

76"L x 36"D x 26"H

About 1300-1500 gph return from the sump. Barebottom. Lots of SPS, several fish (lots of skimming). I already have the 2 6100's and a M/C, was thinking of adding 2 6200's. Would that be enough? Was thinking one in each corner, but not sure how to achieve random flow with 4 pumps on the M/C.

Or would you recommend the surge device? The tank will be eurobraced for splash.

Also, what is your opinion on Phosphate levels. I would like to have zero phosphates from the start, possibly your phosphate remover.

Lastly, how much will the magnets be? I have a couple on hold, just wondering.

Hi Roger, I was planning on ordering (wait listed) the 6100's or 62000's today - so if you can let me know what you'd recommend on a ~6x3x2 that would be great. Also wondering which magnets to order, or if they would work with 1" acrylic. The tank should be done in about a month, hoping to get it up as soon as possible.

I guess another option would be to have the tank builder drill holes in the perimeter bracing for the Stream brackets (would much rather have the magnets though).

The 6200's alone could do it so if you plan to use your 6100's two more 6100's would be fine. The magnet holders are only rated for up to 3/4". 1" is likely possible but only with no angle and probably not for the 6200. I would have it drilled just in case. The bigger magnets will be just under $50 ea.

For Phosphates, don't get crazy. 0 is not desirable. .015 is as low as you would ever want to get, all life forms require phosphate to produce energy and you should control the levels but not starve the tank. I might recommend a low dose of Silphos which is a gentle slow acting Phosphate remover. Otherwise the skimmer and funcioning bio filter will keep levels within reason.

Wow, the 6200's can cover 36" depth? That's amazing. Well, if it were your tank, would you take 4 6100's or 2 6200's?

The way you quoted size it reads 3' wide in your second email- dimesions are standardized in the order l*w*h. It covers 84" by 30" by 30" roughly For 36" deep it is likely best to have the Streams positioned a bit lower and have a good surface movement from returns.

Sorry - I interchanged width with depth.

It's 76L x 36W x 26H. The length & height might change by +/- 2" but the width is definitely 36". So if the 6200 covers 30" width, should I just go with 4 6100's? I'm leaning towards just getting a pair of 6200's in addition to the 6100's - and dialing back if needed. Thinking that the flow doesn't really start to funnel until a couple feet out of the Stream. If I have all four, and the 6200's are enough, I could always just move the 6100's to my 20G nano. ;-)

The 6200 is just a wider flow, no greater velocity or reach so I think it would be fine but likely you will find you don't need more than the 2 pumps.
