a friend of mine is giving me a tiger tail cucumber and a diamond goby is it ok to put both in a 75gl with 90lbs of live rock snails & red leg crabs and a few fish?
so long as you have a good established sand bed the goby will be fine. Make sure your rock work is stable because it will move all the sand from around the base of the rocks. He will make a burrow under a rock. I had one in my 75 and they are a great fish. You will have a squeaky clean sand bed.
The diamond goby needs a sand bed (didn't see that mentioned)at it will sift and spit sand everywhere including on corals so you will need to uncover them as needed. Also they are well known for jumping so a screen would be in order if you don't have one. If you have other gobies you could have some aggression (which could lead to jumping).
The cuc and the goby together are going to kind of compete as they both sift the sand and I might worry the goby will sift too much making it difficult for the cuc to find food.
nor is it much for a tigertail.
the tigertail is a Voracious eater!! He blew through my 2 yr established tank in just 2 weeks.. I then found him on my glass at night.. not good.. so I had to give him to my father and his 300g tank..
he seems to be loving life there!! :bounce3:
Just my 2 cents
Its not much for the cucumber either, especially with the competition from the goby. And by competition, I mean he can't compete in that tank with the goby.
My general rule: the most expensive thing you can put in your tank is free.
