JUST FISH in Newton

don't you hate to see LFS like that? I was just hoping to keep the guy in business...what a waste of a store

Anyway, you're saving me the trouble of stopping in, I pass it comming back from Newton every so often and always think I should check it out.

I just think the guy has a chip on his shoulder and unless you are spending a ton of money in one shot with him, he couldn't really be bothered. But by all means stop in anyway, his reef livestock (although small) is pretty nice to look at....prices are kinda high but not bad. But, its just sad to see the owner be so cut-throat with the margin of profit he wants...nature's cove in newton is WAY better for prices. And they actually went as far as to tell me the 'price' JUST FISH wanted and claimed was their price (for the versa glass top) was really the retail price and JUST FISH was double dipping on the profit. Basically JUST FISH just suks
 
oh yeah...and if you mention that you are on Reefcentral...he gets instantly annoyed as if an educated consumer is his worst enemy. If you dont mention that you are on here, he'll probaly try to sell you lousy equipment like the TIDEPOOL filter for an arm and a leg.
 
just saw that PET PLACE 2 in Wanye is charging 109.99 for a five pound bucket of reef crystals that makes 160 gl. (the same bucket that you can buy at marine depot or dr.foster and smith for just over 30 bicks...is this the end of LFS??
 
Bringing this thread back from the dead. Is this place gone? I passed it back in June of 2013, and it said JUST FISH! with a sign that said grand opening, and the building looked like it was just constructed. I was super excited to discover another marine fish store, and it had MARINE written all over the windows in neon window paint and such.

My friend and I were about to go take a ride to Absolute fish and Dover pet, and I said hey, remember that fish store that was opening up we passed back then..So I just googled it, and found it

Is this place really that old? only 7 months ago it looked like this fish store was JUST moving in, and converting another building into a badass fish store. Now I see it could be gone already?!?!?

Besides Ocean gallery on 22, pet shanty, absolute fish, shark aquarium, Fish town USA and Dover Pet, (not counting Pet-Co in ledgewood) there isnt really much local for marine and corals, that doesnt involve a 45 minute + hike. I sometimes go into parsippany and buy my frags from this guy Mike we found on craigslist. He has an AWESOME selection
 
Yes they closed 2 or 3 years ago. They had a liqudation sale for their tanks and suppies. Now the new store is Fincity Aquatics in Sparta. They are a great store to by from and great people. SeaLevel Aquarium in Pinebrook is worth the trip. Great stock and prices. Check both out on FAcebook
 
You can check out Feng's Reef in Dunellen and Elos Aquastudio in Millburn. Both are great stores too.
 
I'm in Sparta and have 3 40 gallon breeders full of frags I need to slim down. Heres an old photo I have frogspawn hammers chalices acros pocillopora montipora zoas (have some blue macaws ready to go) pallys, blaso I could go on.
