Just found a Nudi

Yesterday, I found a couple zoa nudibranches on one of my colonies. I immediatly put them in a bucket of fresh RO water with 4 drops of lugios (sp?) iodine.

I then dipped all of the colonies. I found several dead ones in the bucket by the time I was done.

Today, I noticed several more.

How often should I dip the colonies? How long does it usually take them to die off??

You will need to search the colonies with a pair of tweezers looking for the spiral egg sacs left by the nudi's. If your finding adults now, You will find some in a few more days most likely. I like to do my dips before the lights come on, when the nudis are most active at chomping...
The problem now is that if you dip too often, you will agitate the zoos to a point of death. If you dont dip often enough, you may miss some, that will lay eggs, and then you have to start all over again...

I had a problem with them a few years back...... I ended up using Flatworm-eXit at a higher than recommended dose..... now I treat all new zoa's with it before they go into my tanks.... If you search around there is a thread on this.... Good luck

you will have to dose at a high rate.... it did work for me.... I keep a 5.5 aga running to keep anything new in. that is where I dose.... so far no new pests
