Just got a maze brain frag.

I just got a small maze brain coral frag(pics later). Its really awesome. It is attached to a small rock. Should I just place the small rock on a bigger piece of rock that I have in the tank so the brain will grow on the large piece? Or should I just put it on the sand or something? Also I noticed that there is small starfish inbetween the rock and the brain. Do you think I should try and get the starfish out of there?

It will encrust on to the rock if you put it on a bigger one or plate out over the sand if you don't. The starfish is fine and probably will be gone by tomorrow.

Sorry for not getting up the pics yet. I dont think the brain as really become comfortable yet, because I had to move him around a couple times.I would like to feed him, but he hasnt extended his tentacles yet. Oh and the starfish is still inbetween the the brain and the rock it is attached to. Will this be a problem?

how much does a frag that size go for?

well at my lfs they have this section in their coral tanks that says "nano coral" and pretty much there frags of random coral that they get. All of the frags are the same price which is around $22. So lately thats where Ive been getting all my coral, because in the end, they will grow and get pretty big. So why not.

ya i get all my corals as frags, haven't paid more than 15$ on any corals. most were only 5$. all small but same idea they will grow.
