This one needs id. Not sure if its originally brown or browned in the care of lfs. It seems to have 2 tones though.

Hope you can help.

I wouldnt normally have bought a brown one, but hoping its a grab bag and i will find the prize inside. Besides its stning at base and couldnt just leave it there to probably die.

Hate to tell you this but the first isnt a Merulina either its a Pachyseris and I dont ID Acros to species level so no guess there.

Agreed that first coral is probably Pachyseris (not Merulina in any event). Definitely not Meandrina (though it certainly bares a resemblance). That is a Caribbean coral and, well, you wouldn't be showing it off in public if you had a Caribbean coral...or maybe you would ;)

Second is Acropora. We'd be doing good if we could narrow it down to between 30-60 species from the photo ;) Looks like it has the potential for some nice green color on it though :)

I tried to get the closest shot of the coralites etc but didnt. I will work on it though. Thanks on the first one. I couldnt find pachyseris in the veron book. Does it have a different name i can go by?
