Just got Vortech and....

Just got my Vortech in today, I opened it up and noticed a chip on the magnet. Do I return this to the vendor that I got it from or do I deal directly with Vortech?

A chip in the magnet will not usually lead to any problems. Please run the pump and if there are any problems we will take care of it.

Here's a picture of the chip. I'm not sure how you can say it won't lead to problems especially if this doesn't have the protective coating over it and it's inside the tank being exposed to the salt water.

My only other concern is that I bought this brand new and it mentioning it not leading to a problem bothers me. It's like saying "sure your tank will hold water with that hairline crack in it". I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but just want to make sure I don't have issues down the line.

Hello baloutang-

Chips like that occur prior to the plastic coating process. Therefore that chip still has the plastic coating in place. That being said, that's a big chip! Please email us at service@ecotechmarine.com and we'll take care of you.
