Just Joe do you know?

I've heard of this project for some time now but I'm not sure of the details and have some concerns solely from a business standpoint and making it viable. Just think of the operating costs of keeping a reef tank of that size vibrant enough to keep divers interested...

Statements on the home page to me raise a flag (and not a dive flag):

Quote: "Once membership is full we will no longer accept new members"

Quote: "Assuming we fill our pre-build memberships quickly we will be opening our doors in the summer of 2007."

It sounds like they want to use the pre membership money to help build it?

According to their website, they'll be opening in about a year.
Also, some concerns about their list of inhabitants.

Its certainly worth an email to them to see what the latest is as it would be a nice thing to dive in.

I put in a post a long time ago that it looked to me like a "fishin" website. Fishin for enough interest and pre sales to go to the bank or an inverstor with. Looks like their still fishin. Just My opinion of course.

I have to aggree that would be near impossible to pull off, I hate to be a sceptic but whenever you hear about stuff like this and things like 20,000 gallon reef tanks that work, it's hard not to be :eek1:

I have a hard time imagining the 50 divers they say it will accomodate. Even the initial 24 divers seems far-fetched for that space. Hopefully, this will not be the only way to dive and see reefs somewhere in the future.
