Just ordered one of these..

If that actually worked it'd be great. I wish on those videos they would show a time lapse over the next few days; the majanos looked more ****ed than dead.

I Split the purchase of one of these with a friend when they first shipped. Pretty fun toy! Works well, though it takes some practice. If he aptasia has it's roots deep inside the rock it can be a challenge, if it's on the surface easy hit! The zapper has been fantastic for the occasional ap in-between some zoos, easy to hit without damaging the corals around the sides!

Please let us know what you think!

I just encouraged one of our LFS's to order one of those and suggested he could recoup the purchase price by renting it out to his customers. I don't know if he's going to follow through, but wouldn't that be a good idea?

Is that putting a voltage field in the aquarium? The electrolysis gives you chlorine gas in the bubbles. I've read that it works well on Mojano, but you have to kill every little bit of the Aptasia. One person stated that they used it on a few, and ended up with hundreds later. I personally don't like the sound of this device. It is as hard or harder to reach into tight spaces and caverns as the syringes. I think the chemical treatment, while annoying, is effective. There is something newer than Aipasia X that is good, so I hear. I'll try to find the name.

I have had major infestations and the most effective way for me was to remove the rocks and use a creme brulee torch to zap each aiptasia with the torch for a few seconds. Then I just rinse off the remains with a small stream of RODI or Saltwater and put the rock back in. It took me a couple hours to do my 90g tank but I had the MAJOR satisfaction of basically shooting a flamethrower at them and watching and smelling them sizzle! My first shot removed about 90% of them and then I just had to remove 10 more that I missed over the next few days. I had ZERO regrow on me.

yeah I tried that gel,it works ok(but not better than kalk slurry IMO) but it's really hard to get to some of those buggers hanging upside down..

I've already spent double what this thing costs on aiptasia control, everyones gimmick has their weak points..

I have plenty of test subjects to try everything on lol

very interested if the zapper works or spreads the aptasia .if you dont completely kill it its defense is surviving and it will release spores "babies " and you will have a mess on your hands IMO.

yes I know this lol ..The tank is infested now because of this :blown: If I can clear that tank it will be a wonder machine,if not just another waste of $100 bucks lol

Then it's acid bath time :)

If that frying stick works ...I will pay you to come kill mine. There a pain and im tired of feeding them so called cemicals that dont work.. I have a few that are huge and hard to get to.. let me no if it works for you ..I went as far as pulling out rocks and physically removing them (just to have them come back) seems like they love the frag disc too.wonder how it would work on zenia?

what about heating the slurry? I heard that adds an extra punch. I'm not a big fan of electricity being put into my aquarium. I would at the very least make sure you have a grounding rod in place.

well its DC current and would be a million to one to get any kind of shock or even more .i just would like to see how well it works in the long run like six months later . i have aptasia eating file fish in my tanks and they work great 24/7/365 and they also add a cool looking fish into my mix .

i know it will quickly kill the intended aptasia, again just wondering if it kills of or stops them from releasing their spores so they actually spread .not questioning the actual ability to kill them . pretty cool concept IMO !
